From my unique perspective, I am able to teach to their strengths and work around their weaknesses. Although, for 15 years I have taught face to face in a classroom, the Covid pandemic has provided me with opportunities to develop online teaching skills and delivery in a variety of forms. I know this has also proved useful for children with CFS/ME as they have been able to manage both their education and fatigue more successfully by working online. *An initial assessment of your child to assess what they already know, and what their next steps are. This will be completed informally (no tests!) and will involve completing a range of activities.
*Each lesson I will ensure your child makes progress and will also practice and consolidate prior learning to ensure they retain this.
*Regular informal assessments to ensure your child is making progress, and to inform next steps.
*I can cater the lessons to best suit your child’s fatigue – that may be to provide short videos which they can pause and take frequent breaks, live lessons, online games, interactive quizzes etc. I can vary the length of the lesson to best suit your child’s concentration.
*All preparations will be made ahead of time to ensure that lesson time is dedicated purely to your child’s learning.
*I use a range of rewards and incentives to help to motivate your child and to foster a sense of pride and achievement. Please get in touch to discuss your child’s needs and any concerns you have without obligation. Should you be happy for me to, I will then create a bespoke package to best suit your child, whether this be short term, or long term, for one specific curriculum area or a whole curriculum.
