Here’s a Christmas bedtime story from the wonderful Mr George!

19/12/2024

Dear Parents, Carers and Cewe Community,

As we approach the end of another incredible term, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the wonderful experiences, achievements, and memories we’ve shared this first term at CEWE School. It’s been a term filled with joy, progress, and togetherness, and I’m so proud of everything our children, staff, and school community have achieved.

This term has been packed with exciting activities that have truly captured the spirit of Christmas. From magical Santa visits to our fabulous Christmas Fayre, it’s been heartwarming to see the joy on the children’s faces as they engage with each event. We’ve also had the privilege of a visit from a real Fire Engine, which sparked curiosity and wonder, providing a unique learning experience for all. Our Christmas afternoons were a wonderful chance for the children to relax, play, and enjoy festive crafts, stories, and sensory activities that celebrated the magic of the season.

One of the highlights of this term has been our children earning their rewards, where children’s hard work and effort are celebrated. These rewards are a testament to the commitment our children have shown in engaging with our new Behaviour for Learning reward system. This system is designed to promote positive choices, and it’s been incredible to see the children’s determination to meet their targets and achieve their rewards.

A warm welcome to our new children and families who have recently joined CEWE School. We’re delighted to see how well they’ve settled in, forming friendships and building strong relationships with their peers and staff. Integration is a big step, but the support and kindness shown by everyone have made it a smooth and positive process. It’s been heartening to watch friendships blossom and to see children working and playing together with such enthusiasm.

Our children’s progress has been a true highlight this term. Despite the unique challenges they face, their determination, resilience, and hard work have been nothing short of inspiring. We’ve seen remarkable progress in their communication, social skills, and learning. It’s been wonderful to see the pride on their faces as they master new skills, overcome challenges, and meet personal milestones. Our staff’s dedication and care have played a significant role in this progress, and I’d like to thank every member of our team for their tireless commitment.

Swimming lessons have been another important part of our curriculum this term, providing children with vital life skills as well as sensory and physical development opportunities. Seeing the children’s confidence grow in the water has been an absolute joy, and it’s another fantastic example of the progress our children continue to make. Next term even more children will get this opportunity.

None of this would be possible without the incredible sense of togetherness that defines CEWE School. We face challenges every day, but it’s the collective strength of our children, parents, carers, and staff that pushes us forward. Each challenge is met with patience, persistence, and compassion, and together we’ve created an environment where every child feels valued, supported, and capable of achieving their best. It’s this unity that makes our school so special, and I’m endlessly grateful for it.

Our school values of Compassion, Connection, Curiosity, and Courage continue to shine brightly in everything we do. These values underpin every aspect of school life, from our learning experiences to the way we support one another. It’s inspiring to see these values reflected in the actions and attitudes of our children and staff each day.

We have also been overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of our parents and carers this term. Your charitable donations for Save the Children and participation in the Christmas afternoons were truly heartwarming and a reflection of the incredible compassion that exists within our community. Our participation in Christmas Jumper Day was a joyful event that brought smiles and laughter throughout the school while supporting an important cause. Your support has made a tangible difference, and we are deeply grateful for your contributions.

As we look ahead to the New Year, we’re filled with excitement for the opportunities and adventures to come. We have so much planned, from new learning experiences to fun activities that will inspire and engage our children. We’ll continue to challenge and support every child, ensuring that they feel safe, happy, and ready to thrive in their learning journey.

Thank you, as always, for your support, trust, and partnership. Your involvement in our school community makes a world of difference, and we’re so grateful to have you with us on this journey. On behalf of all the staff at CEWE School, I’d like to wish you and your family a restful, joyful, and peaceful Christmas break.
We look forward to welcoming you all back in the New Year for another term of growth, learning, and, of course, lots of fun! School reopens at 8:30am on Monday, 6th January.

Warmest wishes,
Natalie Jones
