These kids amaze me every week with the progress they are making! 🥹🙌🧵

Once a child has the confidence to thread their sewing machine and they know how to sew a simple straight stitch… what they can create with a bit of help and encouragement is absolutely amazing!

These little girls are all aged between 6-8yrs old… and they have all just sewn their own skirts! 🙌🥳

And the best bit… this one is just their practice one (in sewing we call it a toile) so they can check the fit and learn the process first before cutting in to their real fabric!

I’m so excited for them to choose their actual fabric next lesson! ✨🧵

🧵Fashion school kids have been sewing with stretch for the first time and are in the middle of making T-shirts! 🙌

Just had to share this pic as it’s too cute not too. 😍

2 new beginners at sewing class last week, never touched a sewing machine before and can now thread it and sew the basic stitches. 🧵

They walked out of class with a huge smile on their face and showed off their handy work to their mummy! 🥰

There’s only 2 beginner places left for 6-9y olds now, all my other classes are FULL.

Do they learn to sew? Absolutely... ❤️

Parents often ask me...
"What will my child learn to make?"

And the answer is...
Lots of amazing projects.

But if I'm honest...
The sewing is only half of it.

Every single lesson they're learning things that will stay with them long after they've finished their final project.

✨ They learn resilience when something goes wrong.
✨ They learn determination when a project feels tricky.
✨ They learn problem solving when something doesn't quite work first time.
✨ They learn patience.
✨ They learn independence.
✨ They learn creativity.
✨ They learn to ask for help.
✨ They learn to help someone else.
✨ They learn to keep going.

And perhaps most importantly...

They learn that they're capable of doing something they never thought they could.
Those are the lessons I hope they'll carry with them for the rest of their lives.
