⭕️ 🔻 🟥 This week in nursery as part of our White Rose Maths learning we are exploring shapes. Today we have been discussing names of different shapes such as, triangle, square, circle and star. The children have been very busy in the construction area finding and using these shapes to create wonderful buildings/towers. We have also designed our own colourful shapes in the mark making area.

Baking and making cakes to help raise funds for Wigan & Leigh Hospice as part of MacMillan Morning. The children enjoyed getting stuck in and we even licked our spoons once we had finished 😝🍫

We managed to raise £85.81 and still had some cakes left over so we took them over to the hospice so the staff and patients could enjoy the sweet treats ☺️

🪷🧘🏽‍♂️ Wellness Wednesday 🧘🏽‍♀️🪷

The children were introduced to the Green Box from the 4 zones of regulation.
We explored some activities with the children and began by listening to our heart and talking about the sound, then we introduced the zones of regulation and talked about the different colours before looking in the box and making relaxing sounds with the resources.
We did some teddy bear breathing, other relaxing activities and talked about how we felt and placed a pom pom on the colour which represented how we felt, to which we all chose green = happy.
We ended by doing a happy dance 😝

Today our 0-2 children enjoyed using leaves, flowers, petals and other natural treasures to make a beautiful garden. 🌼🍃
The children also used playdough to create and arrange different things, while wooden spoons were used for scooping, mixing and exploring.❤️

🪵🌳 What a fantastic morning we have had exploring in the peace garden! We got our wet suits and wellies on ready to get stuck in to our outdoor learning! 🤩

We explored lots of different natural materials and used imagination and role play to make our play pals garden cafe! 🌳🪵🍝🫕

We used thin twigs for spaghetti, rocks for potatoes, leaves for salad and even had a BBQ!

The children absolutely loved this activity and gained lots of lovely language and imagination from it.
