This week, the children have been learning about Remembrance Day. We have discussed the reason why we wear poppies and today, we have had a minute silence outside whilst Katie played the last post on her instrument.

One child was very interested in the instrument so we sat down and watched a video of the parade in London and Katie showed the children the cornet and played a few familiar tunes. 🎺

🎃Halloween Stay & Play🎃

We’ve had a lovely afternoon on at our Halloween themed stay and play. Thank you to our parents that made it, Keep an eye out for our Christmas activities.

Over the past few weeks, the children in Hedgehogs and Owls have enjoyed reading the 'Tiger who came to tea'. This has developed into a learning journey...
✨ Having a tea party in the roleplay area,
✨Which then developed into making our own cups of tea. One child said "I'm making hot chocolate, my mummy drinks hot chocolate".
✨ We then decided to have a drink of hot chocolate in the cosy area.
✨During story time, we discussed the foods in the story. One child said "I have cupcakes as a treat" this then developed into discussing what is healthy foods for our bodies.
✨In the mark making area, we drew pictures of our favourite meal at home.
✨When it was time to clean up the tuff tray from our tea making, the children used the pipettes to squeeze up the liquid, developing their fine motor skills.

I wonder which story we are going to look at next...

Conker rolling- today we found some conker in the garden and decided to paint with them, rolling them side to side in a tray to make marks on the paper.

Yesterday, our managers from all the Nature Trail Nurseries enjoyed a training day exploring the outdoors! 🍁🍂

🌎World Mental Health Day.🌎

Yesterday, our children and staff wore something yellow - to spread some happiness!

Our Snails children enjoyed baby massage.

Our Hedgehog children discussed how we are feeling and why by looking at our emotion face. We had lots of answers "excited, it's my birthday" "happy, to play with my friend" "angry" "sad, I want to see my Grandad" We then sang some happy songs.

In Owls, we took part in peer massage, making our partners feel relaxed and chilled.

During our preschool circle today, we practiced putting our own coats on and zipping up.

💛Throughout the day, we will be focusing on our feelings and how we can improve our mental health! 💛

At the weekend, some of the team completed their paediatric first aid.
We are proud to say all our team are paediatric first aiders.

This evening, we had our preschool parents information evening to discuss what we can do together in preparing our preschool children ready for ‘big school’. We had information stations and activities set up to show our parents some activities we do at nursery.
