What a week of celebration we had! And it would be remiss of us to go without mentioning our Class of 2026 for their exemplary conduct at last weeks prom.

Scrubbing up beautifully, you all looked stunning and so smart, and we're so pleased to hear that so many of you partied the night away with the biggest smiles and the loudest singing voices!!

A huge thank you to our venue hosts Mercure Haydock Hotel and our DJs for the evening DJ Entertainments for ensuring such a special and memorable night for our VIPs, and to all our school staff for your support and helping to make sure every one got home safely.

Official photographs taken by will be available to purchase so please keep an eye on your ClassCharts inbox. Until then, we're able to give you a little sneak peek at just a few pictures. Enjoy...

On Friday, year 10 enjoyed a fantastic Sampling Day at Cronton College.

Students took part in four different taster sessions, exploring a range of courses offered at Cronton and Riverside. It was a great opportunity to experience college life, discover new subjects and consider future pathways.

The students thoroughly enjoyed the day and were a credit to the school, representing us brilliantly throughout. Well done, Year 10.

Thank you to Cronton Sixth Form College for providing this amazing video!

At this time of year, you might be thinking of booking a week or two away in sunnier climes. And with the rising cost of living, it can be tempting to book a holiday during term time when prices are lower.
We get it. Family time is truly precious. But before you click to confirm your booking, take a look at our guide in our link in bio to help you plan a more affordable holiday without missing school.
We've pulled together some helpful tips that might help you to save some extra pounds, so you can still get away and your child can still benefit from coming to lessons.
Even a few days away from school can mean missing key learning, leaving gaps that quietly build over time, and for secondary students especially, every lesson connects to the next, and time out can make it harder for them to stay confident and on track. We want to do all we can to help you make an informed judgement call, so we can work together to give your child the best support.
Together, we can help make the most of every school day. Attendance Matters, are you in?

On Friday, our Year 9 students celebrated an important milestone as they marked their transition from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 4 with a special Reflection Mass.

The service provided an opportunity for students to pause and reflect on their journey over the past three years, recognising their achievements, the friendships they have built, the challenges they have overcome and the personal growth they have experienced.

As they prepare to begin the next stage of their education, students were encouraged to look ahead with courage, hope and determination. Through prayers, readings and reflection, we considered the theme of journeys and the people who guide and support us through life's changing waters.

We are incredibly proud of our Year 9 students and look forward to seeing all they will achieve in Key Stage 4.

Last week our Year 7 students took part in an RFL-inspired 9's Festival and enjoyed a fantastic day of rugby.

The team performed brilliantly, recording three wins, one draw and two losses throughout the competition.

A special mention goes to N. Tickle, M. Sant, F. Scott and J. Passey, who demonstrated great sportsmanship by helping out another school that was short of players.

Congratulations also to N. Warner and D. Spinks, who scored some excellent tries during the festival.

Well done to all involved for representing the school so positively!

Children and young people can be prone to catching bugs and infections, and we completely understand when your child needs time off. If they’re genuinely unwell, please make sure they rest, stay home, and recover.
But it's those days when your child might be feeling just a little tired or is a bit 'bunged up', when they should consider giving school a try, as it can help get them moving and give them a boost to help them feel a little better.
Our teachers and staff are ready to support and care for your child while they’re here, and we'll always keep you in the loop if anything changes during the day.
You know them best. But if you’re unsure, this helpful guidance from the NHS can help you decide what to do next: https://www.nhs.uk/live-well/is-my-child-too-ill-for-school/
