H.E.A.R.T.S theatre school For the Community by the Community Since 2001 in Widnes, Cheshire. 2011's annual Pantomime seen us celebrating our 10th anniversary.

Who would have thought all those years ago that we would be celebrating this milestone? The initial idea was born from the need of the joint churches of St Basils and All Saints to raise enough funds to plant a millennium garden of remembrance. This raised approximately £700 and was a great success in more ways than one. The founder Louis was asked by both Rev Guy and Fr Paul to continue the proje

ct and with the churches help, set up a formal community group. With an initial loan from the church of £200, and invitation to the community to become involved the rest as they say is history.

10 years on we are now a not for profit community group having sustained our existence. The group’s hard work was rewarded last year when H.E.A.R.T.S was chosen by Councillor Marie Wright in her Mayoral year as one of her local charities. We were extremely delighted to receive both the group’s heightened profile. We are eternally grateful for Marie’s kind gesture and continued support shown by her since we started. In addition to the theatre group a dance academy was set up to provide a good understanding of musical theatre and dance by professionally qualified tutors. This has attracted more members and has enabled us to enhance the standard and quality of our annual productions. Over the last 10 years H.E.A.R.T.S has been involved in many diverse projects such as Youth Federation dance competitions and examinations. We have also been a part of many variety shows such as the Mayors Broadway to Brindley, other Charity Shows, our own showcases working alongside Halton’s Got Talent finalist and shows with X Factors’ Danny Morris, not to mention our full length musical of Summer Holiday all held at the Brindley. In 2010 a party of students represented H.E.A.R.T.S as they performed on the centre stage in Fantasy Land at Disney Land Paris. Today was Mrs Jinnie last day teaching with us.

After 12 incredible years, we’re saying a very fond goodbye to Jinnie as our "Senior" teacher. We’ve had the privilege of watching her grow from a young seventeen-year-old on her very first day with us into someone who has made such a lasting impact on our dancers and our school.

It’s hard to put into words just how much she has given over the years, the care, dedication, patience, and love she’s shown to our dancers has meant everything.

While we’re so sad to not have her with us every week, we are also so proud of her as she continues her day job doing amazing work supporting neurodiverse children and families. We know she will do wonderful things and make such a difference, just as she always has with us.

The good news is, this isn’t a total goodbye. Jinnie will be sticking around to help us out from time to time and during Panto, so there will still be that familiar, friendly face popping in every now and then.

Thank you, Jinnie, for 12 years of memories, magic, and heart. You’ll always be part of our H.E.A.R.T.S family 💕

🎭 Panto DVD Available Tomorrow! 🎭

Cast members, you can purchase a copy of our pantomime DVD at the wrap party tomorrow. DVDs are £20 each and we will have the card machine available for payment.

A lovely keepsake of an amazing show, don’t miss out!

Cast reminder: Our panto wrap party is this Sunday from 2 to 4pm. Pizza will be provided. It is a great chance for everyone to celebrate and run through all the panto dances one more time. Looking forward to seeing you all there.
