Tweenie Fest!
On Friday 31st July, the Tweenies welcomed their families into nursery to celebrate all of the wonderful learning and achievements from throughout the year at our very own Tweenie Fest!
Everyone arrived wearing bright, colourful outfits, helping to create a fun and exciting atmosphere for our celebration. The children were delighted to explore a range of engaging, hands-on activities that encouraged them to investigate, create and learn alongside their families.
🍦 Melted Ice Cream – Pour and Scoop
Our melted ice cream Oobleck tray was a fantastic sensory experience. The children enjoyed pouring, scooping and exploring the unusual texture, noticing how it changed as they touched it. They listened carefully to the splashing sounds and confidently used descriptive language such as "cold," "sticky," "slimy" and "runny" to talk about what they could see and feel. This activity supported the children's communication and language skills, curiosity and early scientific thinking as they explored different materials.
🍦 Ice Cream Play Dough
The Tweenies became talented ice cream makers as they created delicious pretend ice creams using play dough. We made strawberry, vanilla and even bubble gum flavours! The children showed excellent imagination and creativity while developing their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination by squeezing, rolling and shaping the dough into cones. They enjoyed sharing ideas with their friends and families through imaginative play.
🦆 Hook a Duck
Our Hook a Duck game was full of laughter and excitement! The children carefully used their "spy eyes" to find ducks with special numbers before identifying the numeral and hooking their chosen duck from the water. This playful activity encouraged number recognition, turn-taking, concentration and perseverance, while also supporting the development of hand-eye coordination and confidence.
To finish our celebration, every Tweenie received a special certificate and a goodie bag in recognition of all their hard work, progress and achievements this year. It was wonderful to see how proud and excited they were as they celebrated with their families.
We are incredibly proud of each and every one of our Tweenies. They have grown in confidence, developed new skills, built wonderful friendships and embraced every learning opportunity with enthusiasm. Thank you to all of our amazing families for your continued support throughout the year. Your involvement in our Stay and Play sessions and special events has helped create so many meaningful learning experiences for the children.
We wish all of our Tweenies the very best as they continue on their next learning adventure. We know they will continue to shine!
