This week in Tot’s!!

We have really enjoyed exploring national space day! 🌞 👨‍🚀
We got supe messy with foam and paint exploring the different shapes, colours and textures. We used different tools to make marks and talked about the colours we had seen. 👨‍🚀👨‍🚀☄️

We also made our farmer this week and began to decorate some off the animals that live on a farm. We really enjoyed sticking all the pieces on the farmer and using the paint to add a splash of colour. 🐄🐓

We have also really enjoyed exploring soft, hard and shiny textures. We explored big and small. We got clever by finding our own shiny items around the room. 🪶

We sat down with some off our favourite stories and looked at all the different pictures as we independently turned all the pages. 🕮

We have also enjoyed water play today watching the foam and water mix together and seeing all the different patterns they have made.

We also explored cloud dough, and we hide all the different insects and flowers. We talked about what they where and the sound the make. We also enjoyed sprinkling the cloud dough and squashing it together. 🐜🐛

We have had a really good week this week in the Tot’s room.

World famous Astronauts would have been rocketing into our classroom if they had seen our amazing Pre Schoolers who zoomed in to celebrate National Space Day dressed as planets, stars, the Sun, the Moon and as Astronauts. It was an outer this world experience 👩‍🚀🔭🚀.

We created a collage of the Solar System and a 3D floor visual replica of the planets, matched up a planet puzzle, designed our own version of planet Earth using food dye, cotton pads and pipettes. Information books were shared, Storybot jingles and raps on planets, the Sun and the Solar System listened to and enjoyed ☀️🌠👨‍🚀.

One of our lovely families donated inflatable representations of the Solar System. We looked at the colours, shapes and sizes of each one, played a game to identify different planets by using descriptions, named them and investigated different special features and had a fact finding mission to discover why they are all unique 🪐🌍🌌🌘.

P R E S C H O O L: 07/05/2026

Pre School celebrated International Firefighters Day by coming to nursery dressed as a firefighter 🚒🔥💦. We explored our very own fire truck and imaginative play props, the fire house and sung our favourite nursery rhyme "5 Little Firemen standing in a row, 1 2 3 4 5 let's go".....👨‍🚒.

The children shared the props to the costumes they wore and acted out scenarios of saving, driving the fire crew around, drawing flames on the chalk boards and applying water brushes to remove them. Pre School investigated the role of a firefighter, we discussed the fire safety extinguishers we have in the room and how to be safe from danger and call 999 for help 🧯💥☎️.

We also want to dedicate this day to all the unsung heroes who do this life saving role every day. More than a career but a calling. The difference is you. Thank you for risking your life to save another. Our children see you as a role model, brave and what a superpower!!!

P R E S C H O O L: 27/04/2026

Pre School celebrated Earth Day learning about how we can look after our planet 🌍. We shared information on recycling, reduce, reuse and repair concept ♻️. Water recycling was engaged with via green and blue water play with sea animals and a mix of bottles, nets and sea shells 🐚💦. Through stories we touched on recycling points such as the life cycle of a cardboard box 📦, recycling of a water bottle🍶 and water recycling with the tale of a "Little Raindrop" story 💧.

With Alina we enjoyed building our awareness of countries in the wider world 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇷🇴🇦🇱🇩🇰🇪🇸🇮🇳🇫🇷🇨🇳🇳🇪. Naming countries and looking at their flags. New vocabulary was shared and we enjoyed a flag hunt around the garden area. After waving our flags from around the world 🗺📍. The children were given the opportunity to design and add colour to their own flag as a class 🎨🖌. This was a lovely activity and the most fun.

T O T S: 20th April 2026

This week in Tot’s room we have had so much fun!

We have enjoyed being out in the sunshine playing, running, jumping exploring the slide and our natural environment. ☀️🌞🌻

We have shown off our modelling skills with playdoh fun, exploring the colour blue and using the different tools to see what they do. 🚙🟦

We have also fed our babies this week using a spoon and bowl to help us with our coordination skills. 🥣🥄

We have enjoyed exploring the sensory zip lock bags that had different colours and different objects in. We felt some hard, soft, and squishy textures. 🫟🫟
We have enjoyed lots of water play using the boats and showing off our counting and communication skills. 🫧🫧🚢

We have enjoyed celebrating St. Georges day by creating some lovely red and white pictures. 🛡️🗡️

Pre School celebrated Unicorn Day 🦄 which was such a colourful event. A class full of Unicorns, all parading in rainbow colours and with special books to share on the day 🌈. The children investigated different play invitations, joined in with mark making with special pastel coloured crayons, dancing with the scarves to Unicorn music and yoga.

We even inspired the children to create their own unicorn activities at the table with ideas being shared, den making for our unicorns to rest and recharge in, reading stories and going on a colour hunt around the room looking at objects rainbow themed 🎨.

😊😆This week in the Tot’s room we have so much fun!! 😊😆

We have enjoyed the nice weather out in the garden, finding our feet and exploring with our friends. We learnt how to kick and a throw a ball which made us giggle lots. We also enjoyed the slide outside and reading some books. 🏡🏡🏡

We also loved decorating and getting inside the boxes playing peek a boo with our friends and having a cosy time in the box. 🎗️🎙️🎵

We have loved using our sensory ribbons the best part was putting them on our heads and pulling them down are faces. We loved waving them round with our musical movements. 🎗️🎙️🎵

We also created a construction yard that the children loved exploring the shredded paper, blocks and cars. We built towers in the construction yard, and we drove are cars through the bumpy paper. 🏗️🚧👷‍♀️👷‍♂️

🚣‍♂️⛵🛳️🚢 Tot’s loved splashing in the water exploring with the boats and singing row row your boat.
We have enjoyed using the different stamps to dab in paint to be able to do some lovely printing with them. We really enjoyed getting super messy!! 👨‍🎨🖼️

Easter Stay and Play in Baby Room 🐣🌸🥚🌼🐥🍫🌷🐇🥕

Today, the babies enjoyed such a lovely afternoon filled with Easter fun - even the Easter bunny came and visited - most of us all loved saying hello! 🐰

We enjoyed some sensory activities, filled with lots of different materials and textures, all pastel colours and Easter themed resources inside. We loved the shredded paper the most - it was very messy! 😁

We also explored two Baa Baa Black Sheep trays, with it being one of the babies favourite songs! One was a pouring and filling tray, and the other was a sensory tray, where we explored how soft the sheep was 🐏🎶🎵

What a lovely afternoon we had - thank you so much to our lovely parents and carers for coming! 💛

This past month in Pre School we have been eggcited as we have done lots on Easter, celebrating at home and at nursery. As part of our stay and play this month we hosted an Easter Bonnet Parade 👒🐰🪺 in the nursery garden whilst the sun greeted us, we looked for signs of Easter and where the eggs were hidden.

The clues were followed and we had a fun eggploration outdoors and even had the best surprise from The Easter Bunny 🐇🧺. Family photos were taken and a chance to admire all the hardwork put into the home made bonnets on parade.

The classroom was decorated with Easter themed table top activities such as an Easter Tree to hang eggs, Spring chicks to play with and Easter chalking table to investigate 🐤. We also had Easter sensory trays, Easter play dough with loose parts to tinker with and a decorate your own edible Easter Egg biscuit and Easter Chick cake to enhance. The children made display work on Spring and Easter time, printed Easter egg art and received egg hunt treats from the Easter Bunny.

30th March to April 2nd

This week in Tot’s we have had loads of fun! 🤩

Some of our Tot’s really enjoyed doing lot’s of exploring and getting use to their new room and creating new bonds and friendships. 👫
We have enjoyed exploring the home corner and cooking up a storm. 🍳🍴

Tot’s have loved feeding their babies’ 👶👶and washing them.
Using different scoops and plastic tweezers to strengthen our fine motor skills. 🫶
We have loved exploring the outside we have been on the scooters trying to learn how we work our feet to make it go 😊

We met the easter bunny in the garden🐇🐣🐰. We had so much fun getting very messy in the gloop and exploring our sensory bin, sorting all the carrots and putting them into the bunny basket.
We got creative and made our own easter wreaths and went on an egg hunt in the garden too!
Tot’s room want to wish everybody a Happy easter and a great weekend!! We can’t wait to have more fun next week. 🐇🐣🐰🌷🖍️🤸‍♀️🎊🚛🖌️📚
