👣✨ Theme of the Week: Crazy Feet ✨👣
This week in Pre-K, we’re putting our Crazy Feet to work as we continue to build the foundations for confident, coordinated movement!
Through exciting games and obstacle-based activities, children will further develop locomotor patterns such as running, jumping, hopping, galloping, and even begin learning the more complex skill of skipping. While these movements are fun and engaging, they also support so much more than physical development.
As children practice coordinating different movement patterns, they are strengthening balance, body awareness, motor planning, concentration, and confidence. These experiences help children learn how to control their bodies, navigate space safely, and tackle new challenges with resilience and determination.
🌟 This Month’s Focused Developmental Milestones:
• Jumping side-to-side with control and coordination (typically around 5 years)
• Hopping on one foot multiple times, developing balance and strength (typically around 4 years)
• Galloping facing forward, encouraging rhythm, coordination, and bilateral movement (typically around 4 years) /
Every hop, jump, and gallop helps children build the physical confidence they need not only for sports and recreation, but for everyday activities and lifelong healthy movement habits.
We can’t wait to see our Pre-K gymnasts show off their Crazy Feet this week! 💙❤️

👣 Theme of the Week: The SOLES of Our Existence 👣
This week in our Parent & Child classes, we’re exploring how movement supports your child’s growing independence, confidence, and coordination.
Through fun, play-based activities, little ones will have opportunities to strengthen the foundations needed for everyday movement skills such as walking, running, jumping, and galloping. While these actions may seem simple, they play a huge role in developing balance, body awareness, muscle strength, coordination, and spatial understanding.
🌟 Featured Developmental Milestones (Get Moving):
• Developing a rapid, stable run and beginning to experiment with jumping using two feet.
• Learning to bend and pulse their knees as a precursor to jumping, or confidently jumping in place with both feet.
• Exploring sideways movement through side-stepping and beginning galloping patterns, helping to build coordination between both sides of the body.
These movement experiences also support important cognitive and social development by encouraging problem-solving, risk assessment, confidence-building, and perseverance in a safe and nurturing environment.
We can’t wait to watch our little movers take big developmental strides this week! 💙❤️
