Childcare places available at our Day Nursery, which consists of three separate age rooms, 0-2, Toddlers, and Pre-School, and a large garden area.

Highly qualified staff supervise all of the children at the nursery, with Qualifications ranging from NVQ Level 4, 3 and 2. Our apprentices are all working towards gaining a minimum Level 2 qualification.

The Pre-School Room at our Upton Day Nursery is a large spacious room that is set out into each of the 7 areas of development.

The room is based for children aged 3 – 5 years, and focuses on children’s independence. Children are encouraged to self-serve meals whilst making their own choices as well as being independent with self-care, this includes toileting, brushing of teeth.

Continuous provision takes part each day on the children’s daily routine. This allows children to make their own choice to play indoors or outdoors in all-weather conditions as waterproof clothing is provided. Each area of development is set out in the outdoor environment so all children are gaining the same development as they would, being indoors.

We are very keen to ensure that all our staff has access to regular training in childcare and professional development, conducting training in Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, Food Hygiene and Managing Children’s Behaviour.

We recognise that it is only through a trained and motivated workforce that we can deliver the necessary commitment and care to your children, ensuring that there is a balance of age and experience amongst staff and our turnover of staff is extremely low.

The nursery conforms to and exceeds, the legal requirements set out in the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage.

All staff are subject to an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring System) being carried out upon employment.

We also recognise the importance of working in partnership with parents to meeting the needs of the children.

We do this by consulting parents on a regular basis through daily diaries parent evenings and through our online service via Capture Education.

All 3 and 4-year-olds in England already get 15 hours a week of free early education. If their parents are living and working in England, 3 and 4-year-olds may be entitled to 30 hours free childcare. An extra 570 hours of free childcare a year, so 1140 hours in total. 30 hours free childcare will be available from September 2017.

The eligibility criteria are the same as the ones for Tax-Free Childcare, except you can continue to get these types of support at the same time as 30 hours free childcare:
