🍂🦉🦔 Autumn Animals Week 🐿️🍁

We’ve had another lovely week, continuing our autumn theme and learning all about autumn animals! 🦊

The children have loved exploring our campsite role play area, zooming around on the scooters, getting creative with playdough and drawing, and enjoying our book of the week, Percy the Park Keeper. 📚

We’ve been busy splashing around making ‘conker soup’ in the water tray and transformed our little room into a magical sensory light room, exploring pebbles, light boards, torches and a ceiling projector! 🔦✨

And of course, lots of lovely autumn crafts, including squirrels, owls, hedgehogs and plenty of painting! 🎨🐿️🦔

Another fun-filled week of learning through play! 💛

✏️💛 Little hands need lots of opportunities to play, explore and move before they're ready to write!

Take a look at these lovely ideas to try at home via the link below💛

There are lots of ways you can support your little one to get ready for writing and it doesn't involve sitting at a table practising letters over and over. First they need to develop big and small movements. For ideas on how to create simple, fun opportunities for your little one to strengthen and increase control in their movements. 🍂🍁 Autumn Week 🍁🍂

We’ve had another lovely week exploring all things autumn! 🍄🌰

The children have loved playing in our ‘Zebedoo’ 💁🏼‍♀️ Hair Salon role-play area, climbing and balancing on the steps, squishing, rolling and shaping playdough, and enjoying stories in our cosy book corner, including our book of the week, Stickman. 📚💛

We’ve also been busy exploring autumn treasures in the sand tray and creating colourful leaf printing and conker trails to drawing Stickman’s family tree, there’s been plenty of opportunities for creativity and imagination this week 💛.

Conker trails 🎨🌰
The children have spent the morning getting creative with this autumn inspired activity!
We dipped some conkers in paint and tilted and rolled them around in a tray to make colourful patterns. A fun, messy way to explore colour, movement and mark-making. 💛

🍂🌾🚜 Harvest Festival Week 🚜🌾🍂

We’ve had a lovely week celebrating Harvest Festival. 🍁

Firstly a huge thank you to all our lovely families for your generous Harvest Festival donations to the Wickford Salvation Army. Your support is very much appreciated! 💛

The children have enjoyed our builders and construction role-play area, climbing frame and slide, playdough and our farm area, complete with animals, tractors, hay and Weetabix hay bales! 🚜🐄🧱

We’ve shared our book of the week, The Scarecrows’ Wedding, in our cosy book area and got creative with lots of different textures and materials, making hedgehogs, scarecrows, harvest moons and autumn wreaths, as well as having fun with apple printing. 🦔🍎🎨.
