What a wonderful and enriching few weeks weโ€™ve been having! ๐ŸŒผโœจ

The children have shown great curiosity and enthusiasm while exploring the garden, searching for insects and learning about the natural world around them ๐Ÿž๐Ÿœ
This experience supported Understanding the World (exploring the natural environment), Communication and Language (developing new vocabulary through discussion), and Physical Development (moving safely and confidently in outdoor spaces).

We also thoroughly enjoyed celebrating World Book Day, with the children dressing up as their favourite characters ๐Ÿ“š๐ŸŽญ
This promoted Literacy (developing a love of stories and books), Expressive Arts and Design (role play and imaginative expression), and Personal, Social and Emotional Development (building confidence and sharing experiences with peers).

For Motherโ€™s Day, the children created personalised photo frames, showing great care and pride in their work ๐Ÿ’–
This activity supported Expressive Arts and Design (using a range of materials creatively), Physical Development (fine motor skills and control), and PSED (forming positive relationships and expressing feelings for others).

The children also enjoyed learning about St Patrickโ€™s Day, exploring traditions and engaging in themed activities โ˜˜๏ธ
This enhanced Understanding the World (learning about different cultures and celebrations) and Communication and Language (listening, understanding, and speaking about new experiences).

To finish, the children created Easter cards for their families, demonstrating creativity and developing early writing skills ๐Ÿฃ๐ŸŒท
This supported Expressive Arts and Design, Literacy (mark-making and early writing), and Physical Development (fine motor control).

These experiences reflect our commitment to providing a broad and balanced curriculum, supporting all areas of the EYFS and encouraging children to learn through play, exploration, and meaningful experiences ๐Ÿ’•

๐Ÿ“šโœจ World Book Day Fun with our little people! โœจ๐Ÿ“š

Our children had a wonderful time celebrating World Book Day! They enjoyed listening to lots of lovely stories throughout the day and sharing their favourite books with friends.

One of the highlights was our special Tiger Who Came to Tea themed tea party, inspired by the much-loved story. The children had so much fun sitting together, chatting and enjoying a pretend tea party - just like in the book! ๐Ÿฏ๐Ÿซ–

Everyone looked fantastic in their dress-up outfits, and to make the day even more special, each child took a brand new book home to enjoy with their families.

A magical day full of stories, imagination and smiles! ๐Ÿ“–๐Ÿ’›

Embracing February in Our Early Years ๐ŸŒŸ

February has been a busy and exciting month, with our children enthusiastically embracing a wide range of learning experiences through play and exploration.

We learned about St Valentines Day, made flower cards with our hand prints. Made cupcakes for our loved ones and enjoyed messy trays โค๏ธ

We celebrated Pancake Day with pancake tasting, supporting Personal, Social and Emotional Development as children tried new foods and shared experiences, while also developing Communication and Language by talking about flavours and textures ๐Ÿฅž

Our sensory bottles, messy trays, and sticking activities encouraged Physical Development, strengthening fine motor skills, alongside Expressive Arts and Design as children explored creativity, colour, and different materials.

The children also enjoyed learning about Chinese New Year, helping to develop their Understanding of the World. They tried Chinese food, listened to stories linked to the celebration, made paper lanterns, and experimented with colourful lava lamps, supporting Literacy, Mathematics (through cause and effect), and Expressive Arts and Design ๐Ÿœ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿงง

Throughout the month, the children have been learning through stories, sensory play, and hands-on experiences, building confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning across all areas of the EYFS. ๐Ÿฅž๐Ÿฎโœจ

Wowโ€ฆ January, you were BUSY! ๐Ÿ˜…โ„๏ธ

We jumped straight back into the new year with our regular favourites Moo Music and Little Bookworms โ€” lots of singing, listening, chatting, and book-loving fun (hello Communication & Language and Literacy ๐Ÿ“š๐ŸŽถ).

Then January threw us a surpriseโ€ฆ SNOW! โ„๏ธ We were slightly caught off guard, but the children absolutely embraced it. We explored animals that live in cold places and talked about winter weather โ€” a frosty adventure in Understanding the World ๐Ÿง๐ŸฆŠ.

We snuggled up with Williamโ€™s Winter Wish and got creative making our very own snow globes, developing Expressive Arts & Design and those all-important fine motor skills (Physical Development) โœ‚๏ธโœจ

The BIG excitement this month? Our new blackout tent and sensory toys! ๐Ÿคฉ The light table was a huge hit and supported sensory exploration, curiosity, confidence, and turn-taking โ€” ticking off Physical Development and Personal, Social & Emotional Development all in one glowing package ๐Ÿ’ก

All in all, a jam-packed January full of learning, laughter, and very cold noses! Bring on Februaryโ€ฆ maybe with slightly less snow

๐ŸŽ„โœจ What a magical last week of term weโ€™ve had with our little people!โœจ๐ŸŽ„

Our children have been full of festive fun, starting with a cosy Pyjama Day, where everyone came ready to relax and enjoy the Christmas atmosphere. We snuggled up around a hot chocolate messy tray, exploring textures, smells and lots of imaginative play โ˜•๐ŸคŽ

The children got busy in the kitchen too, making chocolate reindeer crispy cakes and decorating their own mini Christmas cakes โ€“ lots of creativity (and a little bit of chocolatey mess!) ๐ŸฆŒ๐Ÿซ๐ŸŽ‚

We also made some very special reindeer food, ready to sprinkle on Christmas Eve to help guide Santaโ€™s reindeer to their homes โœจ

To finish the week, we had a visit from Kirsty at Little Bookworms, who brought the story The Stick Man to life. The children absolutely loved the visit and were captivated from start to finish ๐Ÿ“–๐ŸŒฒ

A wonderful, festive end to a fantastic term โ€“ thank you to everyone who helped make it so special! โค๏ธ๐ŸŽ„

๐ŸŽ„โœจ What a wonderfully busy week of Christmas craft and sparkle! โœจ๐ŸŽ„
Weโ€™ve been up to our elbows in glitter making Christmas cards, decorating calendars, and creating the cutest little tree decorations you ever did see. The creativity has been flowing!

This week also saw us recording our nativity, โ€œWhoops-a-Daisy Angelโ€, and every single child took part. We are so proud of them โ€” they learned all the songs, remembered their parts, and performed like absolute pros! ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŽถ Their hard work really shone through.

And just when we thought the week couldnโ€™t get any more magicalโ€ฆ the big man himself paid us a visit! ๐ŸŽ…โœจ The excitement was off the charts!

One more week to go ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ๐Ÿ’ซ
Feeling festive, grateful, and very ready for the final countdown! ๐ŸŽ„๐Ÿ’•

๐ŸŽ„โœจ Itโ€™s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! โœจ๐ŸŽ„

Weโ€™ve been very busy (and very festive!) with lots of Christmas activities this week! โค๏ธ

๐ŸŽ We tried our hands at bauble balancing โ€” steady hands and lots of giggles!
๐Ÿ”ด Got creative with red playdough and even made some deliciously cosy gingerbread playdough.
๐Ÿ“… Our little artists have been crafting their own Christmas calendars to count down the magical days ahead.
๐ŸŽ„ We loved dressing the Christmas tree and making it sparkle!
๐Ÿ“ A fun sizing activity kept us thinking and comparing all things big and small.
๐Ÿƒ Christmas Snap brought out some festive competitiveness!
โœจ Our Christmas sensory bottles were full of shimmer, shake and sparkle.
๐Ÿง And of courseโ€ฆ we baked the cutest mini Christmas cakes!
๐Ÿ“š We also enjoyed snuggling up with our favourite Christmas books.
๐ŸŽถ And nothing says festive quite like Christmas singing โ€” lots of joyful voices filling the room!

Itโ€™s been a magical start to the season, and weโ€™re loving every moment! ๐ŸŽ…๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ’ซ
