🌟 WHAT A WONDERFUL FIRST 3 DAYS BACK! 🌟

What a wonderful three days we’ve had back at Holy Cross! 🥰

Welcoming new faces alongside our familiar faces has been an absolute pleasure. It has been so lovely to see our school full of smiles, laughter, learning and, of course, a little bit of “testing the boundaries to see if they’ve moved over the summer!” 😂

Unfortunately, the weather hasn’t always been on our side 🌧️☔️, but that certainly hasn’t dampened our spirits! We’ve been busy exploring, learning new skills, trying new things, making friendships, building confidence and discovering just how much fun learning can be!

And what a wonderful opportunity it has been for our pupils to show our teaching team exactly what makes them so amazing, from their kindness and curiosity to their resilience, enthusiasm, creativity and willingness to have a go! ❤️

👑 Year 6 have been given their new job roles within school and have already shown what incredible role models and leaders they are going to be. We cannot wait to see them grow into their responsibilities!

🌱 Preschool & EYFS have been putting those little minds to their very best abilities, showing us exactly what purposeful play, exploration and learning look like. So many busy little brains! 🧠✨

🔢 KS1 have been working hard together and even managing to sneak some maths learning into their play! Because who said learning maths couldn't be fun? 😉➕➖

🔬 KS2 have got stuck straight into their new Science topic, exploring habitats and living things and beginning to investigate the wonderful world around us. 🌍🐛🌿

We are SO proud of every single one of you! 👏

Well done, everyone, we have absolutely loved having you back! 💙

Now it’s time for a lovely long weekend to rest, recharge and refresh before we do it all over again next week! 🥰

We are absolutely delighted to share that Holy Cross has been awarded GOLD in the School Games Mark! 🥇🏆

This recognises our commitment and engagement in the School Games throughout 2025/2026 — and we honestly couldn’t be prouder! ❤️

For such a small school, our children have achieved SO much! 🌟

We are incredibly proud of our pupils for their:

🙌 Teamwork – supporting, encouraging and celebrating one another

MEET THE TEAM! 🙌🌟

The classrooms are ready… the staff are ready… and the coffee supplies have been seriously put to the test! ☕😂

We cannot wait to welcome back all our old faces and meet lots of lovely new faces tomorrow at Holy Cross! 💙

We've spent the last two days brushing up on our First Aid, Safeguarding, Prevent and Allergy Training, while also getting classrooms looking fabulous and ready for your smiley faces! 🏫✨

To be honest, the school looks a little too quiet and bare without you all. We miss the laughter, the chatter, the excitement… and yes, even the endless questions! 🤪😂

We hope you've had an amazing summer filled with memories, adventures, exploring, resting and lots of quality time with family and friends. ☀️💛

But sadly, all good things must come to an end… so it's time to say goodbye to staying up late, waking up whenever you fancy and having absolutely no idea what day it is! 😂 Hello alarm clocks, uniforms, packed lunches and the daily question: “Where are your shoes?!” 🤣

We are so excited for everything this new year has in store – from sports and arts and crafts to brilliant stories, science experiments, maths challenges and so much more! 📚🎨🧪⚽

We are here to help, support and cheer you on every step of the way. ❤️

A huge thank you to all of our wonderful families who came along to our school picnic today! 🧺☀️💛

It was so lovely to see our school community together, enjoying the sunshine, having fun, sharing food, playing and making memories. 🥰

We hope you all had as much fun as we did! Thank you for bringing your smiling faces, picnic blankets, chairs and brilliant picnic spirit! 💕

We’re so lucky to have such a wonderful school community. ❤️

What a year it has been... and what a way to end it! ❤️

As we close another incredible school year, we'd like to say a very special goodbye to our amazing Year 6 pupils.

What a wonderful final year you've had at Holy Cross. From your residential adventure and exciting science experiments to beautiful liturgies, sporting success, teamwork, laughter and lifelong friendships, you embraced every opportunity and truly smashed your final year.

You are more than just a class, you are a team. You have shown resilience, kindness, determination and respect, supporting one another through every challenge, including SATs week, and celebrating every success together.

Your Leavers' Mass was emotional, inspiring and a true reflection of our school ethos: "In the Light of Jesus we Love, Listen and Grow." The beautiful song you created and sang made the celebration even more special and was a moment we'll all remember. You have led by example, inspiring our younger pupils and leaving a lasting legacy at Holy Cross.

Now it's time to spread your wings. Although you're all heading in different directions, you'll always be part of the Holy Cross family. Remember us, keep in touch if you can, and go and smash your next adventure, we know you will!

We rounded off the year with our school picnic before ending today with Splat the Teacher in aid of St Bernadette's charity... and yes, one of our amazing teaching assistants got extremely wet! 💦😂

To all of our families, thank you for your continued support throughout the year. To our incredible staff, thank you for your unwavering dedication, care and commitment to every child, our families and staff make Holy Cross the special place that it is.

What an incredible day our Key Stage 1 pupils have had at Warwick Castle! 🏰✨

From exploring the beautiful castle grounds and discovering fascinating history, to watching an exciting jousting tournament and an amazing bird show, the children packed so much into one fantastic day!

We are incredibly proud of all our Year 1 and Year 2 pupils. They were exceptionally well behaved, showed fantastic manners, and demonstrated brilliant listening and attention throughout the visit. They truly were a credit to our school.

A huge thank you to our wonderful staff and volunteers for giving up their time to make today such a memorable experience. We hope the children have gone home with lots of stories to tell and memories to treasure! 💙
