The DVSA says it has already suspended more than 4,000 booking accounts and over 1,000 driving licence numbers linked to suspected abuse.

If someone claims they can “guarantee” you a driving test for an inflated fee, think twice.

Buying tests through unofficial channels doesn’t just cost you money. It helps keep the problem going.

The fairest place to book your test is through the official DVSA system.

🚗 The DVSA is rewriting the ADI Code of Practice… and I think that’s a good thing.

Being a driving instructor is about far more than teaching someone how to pass a test.

Every day we’re trusted with people’s safety, confidence and wellbeing. We teach nervous teenagers, anxious adults, people with additional needs and those rebuilding confidence after difficult experiences.

The updated Code of Practice is expected to place even more emphasis on professionalism, safeguarding, respectful behaviour, continued learning and putting the pupil at the centre of every lesson.

To me, that’s exactly how it should be.
A good instructor doesn’t just produce passes.

They produce safe, confident drivers who continue making good decisions long after the L plates come off.

The vast majority of instructors already work to a very high standard, but having clear expectations helps protect learners, supports the profession and raises standards for everyone.

Teaching someone to pass a test lasts a day.

Teaching someone to drive safely can last a lifetime.

Are you familiar with the new rules for car driving test bookings? 🤔

📅 Test changes are now limited to 2 per booking.

🔄️ Only learners can book, change or cancel their own test.

📍 Test moves are limited to one of the 3 nearest centres.

By introducing these new rules, we’re aiming to reduce the reselling of tests, create a level playing field for all learner drivers and give them more control over their learning to drive journey. 💪

You show up for your driving test… but forget about THIS 😳

Before you even start driving, the examiner checks your ID.
Licence out, quick check, maybe asks you to take off your sunglasses 👀

Then they say:
Can you read that number plate over there?

🚗 It’s about 20 metres away.

You try… 👀 squinting a bit…
“Uhh… is that… B…P…?”

❌ Not quite.

No worries you get one more chance.
They measure the exact distance, new number plate.

Now the pressure’s on 😬

You try again…

❌ Still can’t read it?

🚫 That’s it. Test over before it even starts.
It’s marked as a fail.

They’ll tell you to visit a GP or optician…
because legally, you’re not allowed to drive if you can’t meet the eyesight standard.

😳 Imagine waiting weeks for your test and it ends in 2 minutes.
