Alphabet Day Nursery

We have all had a lovely Easter week, here at Alphabet!

The babies, enjoyed going on a lovely spring walk, into whittlesey and to feed the ducks.

Pre - school enjoyed making some delicious Easter Rice crispy cakes, which they took home to enjoy!

Everyone enjoyed taking part in a Easter egg hunt in the garden today!

Don't forget next Thursday is World Book Day, we cannot wait to see what all the children dress up as! ☺️

Here's a little snippet of what the children have been up to this week.

Babies have had lots of fun, going out on walks throughout whittlesey, including to the shops and the library and then on the way back to nursery, stopping to feed the ducks.

Toddlers have enjoyed exploring the garden and outdoor environment, using their hands to write in the ice. As, well as making the most of the book corner and exploring the range of books they have available.

Pre - school have enjoyed exploring a wide range of group messy play activites, such as exploring the bugs in the glittery water and exploring the dinosaurs with the cereal, such as pretending to feed the dinosaurs the cereal.

This week in preschool the children have been focusing on the story “commotion in the ocean” we focused on where the fish lived and followed the story closely with one child communicating, “the book is swimming in the ocean”, we coloured in a “big, big, whale” and one child commented “a swordfish looks a bit like a shark”. The children have showed a really keen interest in this and have expressed their interest really well. While taking part in this activity the children mixed colours and noticed what was happening, shouting “it’s gone brown” and when mixing red and yellow another child excitedly shouted “Oh, it’s orange”. We loved reading this book and would love to know which is your child’s favourite book from home.

I know a few of our children have these bottles please follow the advice if you think you have an affected bottle.

Welcome to our Rabbit Room, this room is for our babies aged 0-2. We offer a safe and cosy environment for the children to learn and develop safely. We enjoy lots of sensory, natural resources with a wide variety of messy play! We have regular access to two outdoor spaces and also enjoy time in our nursery allotment having competitions with the other rooms to see who can grow the biggest plants! Routines are developed in this room with home life in consideration and we work closely with parents to ensure weaning journeys are fun and exciting experiences.

🎄 Xmas closure information 🎄

For children that attend term time only their last day will be Friday 17th December 2021

For children that attend all year round please note that we close over the Xmas period and the dates are as follows:

Friday 24th December 2021 - nursery is open, please could we kindly ask that you let us know if your child will not be in or if they will be attending a shorter session so we can give staff time off if they are not needed to spend with their families. ❤️

Monday 27th December 2021 - Monday 3rd January 2022 - nursery is closed for the Xmas period

Tuesday 4th January 2022 - nursery reopens to all.
