Are you ready to make waves in one of the UK’s most iconic seaside towns? Whitstable Harbour Day is seeking a passionate Volunteer Event Manager to help steer our flagship celebration in 2026. Supported by a dedicated team, you will help coordinate a spectacular harbour festival showcasing boats, seafood, music and coastal culture! You will lead the planning, logistics and delivery of an unforgettable community event which involves local businesses, sponsors and performers! … and as a volunteer, you’ll gain valuable experience, expand your network and be part of something truly special.

Join Birdwise for a spooky guided walk today! Birdwise Halloween Guided Walk - 3.30-6pm, meeting Bishopton Lane Car Park. The aim is to get to Reculver for sunset where you can hear some ghost stories! Then return to Bishopton Car Park.

Calling all nature lovers! On Sunday, 9 November, meeting 08:00 by the Skate Park at Swalecliffe for the birdwatch walk. The event will last approximately 90 minutes and offers a wonderful opportunity to spot seasonal birds along the coast.

Whether you're a seasoned birder or just curious, come along and enjoy the fresh air, friendly company, and feathered sights. Don’t forget your binoculars!

Every year, thousands of volunteers across the UK take part in the Great British Beach Clean, a nationwide effort to protect our coastlines and marine life. This isn’t just about picking up litter — it’s about collecting vital data that helps shape environmental policy and protect our oceans for future generations. Its a brilliant way to connect with your community, enjoy the fresh sea air, and make a real difference.

Whitstable Harbour was opened in 1832 by a railway company. In 1834, the world’s first season tickets were issued for the Crab and Winkle Railway line that connected Whitstable to Canterbury.
