Celebrating our English Subject Champions:
This week, our Year 5 Champs accompanied Miss Garton and Mrs Montgomery to The Little Green Bookshop to choose our whole school Welcome Project book for September. They were superb in their discussions, deliberations and love of books! Thank you to Jacqui for opening up just for us and for welcoming us to your gorgeous shop. Jacqui said our visit made her day!
Last term, the Year 6 Champs supported our after school workshop for the Class Library Teddy Bear Comp. It was joyous to see how well they helped our younger children. The teddies T-shirts looked fab. Well done competition winners!

Our adopted author, Lucy Strange, is running this competition in collaboration with Canterbury Children's Literature Festival - her aim is to get 1000 photos of dads or a grandad reading books with children (they can have books in front of faces / photo taken from behind them etc if you'd rather they weren't featured).
It's part of a huge campaign to promote reading for pleasure and to encourage parents to share books with their kids even once they can read independently. Fingers crossed a Swalecliffe family wins!

A reminder that tomorrow we welcome our French visitors from Dainville. The children are invited to wear red, white and blue or all three colours at once.
Thank you.
