With 2024 being the 200th year of the RNLI’s anniversary, we have chosen them as our charity of the year. This means that we’ll keep a collection box on the bar during the season and that our Barts Bash race in September will be used to support this charity, but to start things off, Mags and I were delighted to present a cheque for £350 to the Whitstable branch recently - this being 50% of the money raised by the LUS raffle in December. Thank you to everyone who supported this!

A true rising star from our cadet development programme at TBSC. We are so looking forward to watching and celebrating Ralph’s future successes in sailing. 🙌🙌🙌

Following the success of last year's sponsorship programme, we are once again inviting corporate or individual sponsors to support the TBSC Cadet Development Programme (8-18yrs) during our 2024 sailing season.

In return, you'll have your brand advertised throughout our club and on our website and social media, as well as being visible to the thousands of people who walk past / enjoy the beach.

Sponsorship packages range from £150 to £1,000 or an additional option to tailor a package to suit your requirements.

TBSC is committed to helping more young people to experience the many physical and mental health benefits of learning to sail.

Well, that's a wrap for the 2023 season at TBSC! And what a season we had... topped off last night with a perfect Laying Up Supper at The Marine Hotel in Tankerton.

So many achievements for so many of our members... on-water and off-water. There was so much to celebrate.

We have a fantastic sailing club and member/sailing community, where we truly believe we are the best sailing club on the North Kent coast (or perhaps, anywhere! 😁).

Below is a selection of photos from our evening last night.

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year... and here's to great sailing in 2024. 🥂

TBSC is, once again, taking part in Bart's Bash on Sunday, 17th September. This is a race that is held around the world in memory of Andrew 'Bart' Simpson, an Olympic Champion and America's Cup sailor who tragically died in 2013 in a capsize of a catamaran he was crewing on whilst practising.

On the day, we set a measured course and send the results to the Andrew Simpson Foundation, which then collates the results from around the world and lets sailors know where they came globally. A great opportunity for our sailors to have fun and test their sailing skills against others from around the world!

As this is a charitable race, our entrants will be donating to local charity Porchlight, Kent’s largest charity for homeless and vulnerable people. Porchlight does a fantastic job supporting people who have nowhere to go and no one to turn to. Some are living on the streets and others need support because they are at risk of losing their home.

We look forward to sharing the results and photos of the event.

Three TBSC cadets have been busy travelling with their Topper dinghies this summer, including their devoted families, to compete and train in various Topper events. Elliot, Jack and Ralph's development over this season in competitive sailing has been outstanding. In our club racing alone, you'll typically find a cadet at the top end of the racing results. 🤩

Last weekend, the three cadets represented TBSC at Medway in the Topper Traveller Series. 👏

Topper GJW Direct Costal Championship and NS4 at Whistable Yacht Club and Tankerton Bay Sailing Club 30/05/2023

A wonderful write-up of ITCA (GBR) Topper Coastal Championships (NS4) hosted by our club and Whitstable Yacht Club.

We were dazzled by the talent, commitment and enthusiasm from all the young sailors.

We hope to welcome back everyone soon on the North Kent Coast.

Topper GJW Direct Costal Championship and NS4 at Whistable Yacht Club and Tankerton Bay Sailing Club Fantastic waves, fantastic sailing, fantastic volunteers, fantastic oysters, fantastic venue! Topper NS4 was held at Whitstable and Tankerton Bay. There were over 100 competitors, many submersed and only visible on a crest of a wave.

The organising team at the recent Topper National Sailing Race Series Coastal Championship used our LTE radios to help organise the event. Ed from the Tankerton Bay Sailing Club sent us this great picture of one of the LTE handsets set to the North Kent Coastline.

For more information about these radios and the benefits they can supply, watch our video: https://youtu.be/2M5baVbNg0E

Brilliant weekend with the toppers at WYC and TBSC.
Over 100 cadets eventually took to the sea on Sunday following a blow out on Saturday.
Sailors from age 11 to 18 from Scotland to Cornwall experienced sailing in the bay
What a great day. Thankyou to all the competitors, their families, our volunteers, the ITCA and its sponsors. We had a ball and we hope you all went home with great memories and a smile on your faces. 🙂
