❄️🎄Our Winter Wonderland Grotto 🎄❄️

Today we created a Grotto for our children in the garden. They enjoyed getting cosy together with warm hot chocolate and a biscuit, listening to Christmas stories. Our babies enjoyed feeling all the different textures. We also provided Christmas cards for the children to write a card to someone they love. ❤️

Last week the children engaged in lots of different activities, learning about the Solar System. 💫🚀🪐☄️

We also visited Seven Stories at Ouseburn. The children loved being on the metro, and exploring different sights on the way. We managed to find some stories about space too!

🍂 Autumn at Mini Merrys🍂

The children have been exploring a variety of natural, autumnal objects such as leaves, conkers, pinecones and sticks. These resources have provided rich opportunities for investigation, creativity and imaginative play.

Our staff have carefully supported and challenged each child’s individual skills and development, using these objects to enhance their learning in different ways. 🍂 🤎 🍃🧡

Our children are often provided with the opportunity to cook. Recently we have cooked focaccia bread, banana bread, blackberry and apple crumble, and pizzas. We have an apple and pear tree in our nursery garden, and also some herb plants in our sensory garden. The children use these when we cook and also in their play, especially play dough.
Cooking is a great way to encourage children to communicate, work as a team, listen to instructions and support physical development using different tools, rolling, patting, and squeezing.

A HUGE congratulations to Lauren and Kate who have graduated as Early Years Teachers!!! They have worked so hard to achieve this and have both passed with flying colours!!! We are so proud of them! We now have 6 qualified teachers at Mini Merrys with Catherine, Paul, Alice and. Charlotte! 🥰😁🧑‍🎓
