This is one of my favourite activities and a perfect rainy day.

We had a fun packed day today visiting Tesco to buy a huge selection of fruit. The children were very excited to go on a seed hunt by cutting up all the fruit themselves and trying to find the biggest and the smallest seed. They were really surprised that the pineapple being the biggest fruit had such small seeds and were amazed by the mango seed and that the lemon they all wanted to try was so sour!!
We made fruit kebabs out of all the fruit they chopped up and peeled mostly independently. Lots of concentration, focus and experimenting of different tools and techniques.

We also visited the botanic gardens for some fantastic puddle jumping and a picnic and craft in the glass house. A vey full and exhausting day 🥰

When you’re a childminder the children become part of our family. This means when it’s sports day we all go and cheer on the older kids. It was a hot 🥵 one but the children were all good sports and so excited to see the races

We’ve had a wild week of learning in the outdoors as always. I have some really avid climbers at the moment who also like nothing more than getting dirty so this is high up there in the agenda from tree climbing, bank scaling and sofa cushion tower gymnastics 🥰
I realise that I didn’t take many photos but the ones I did capture beautifully they helped each other so no one was left out.

We’ve been celebrating World Ocean Day last week by doing lots of sea themed activities based on the children’s next steps. Obviously this involved a trip to the beach for some shell collecting too 🐚

We’ve had an exciting day visiting Ystrad garden centre to buy herbs for the mud kitchen garden and see the alpacas. We really enjoyed the seeing the ‘smartest giant in town’ flower display. After that we had a really relaxing picnic at llandeilo swing bridge. Some days it’s nice to mix it up 🥰
