šJust some questions some people may have when deciding whether to start tutoring their child...š
⢠How long have you been tutoring?
š„I was tutoring for just over a year before covid, online and face to face.
⢠What are your qualifications, certifications, or credentials?
š„I have a BEd Primary (HONS) and a range of experiences working with children from 3-12.
⢠Whatās your expertise in the content area my child is studying?
š„I am up to date on the curriculum and any developments. I have experience teaching both maths and literacy and access to a variety of resources suitable to each child's needs
⢠Have you worked before with kids or adults who have trouble with the same skills as my child?
š„Each child will be treated indivually and assessed on what their needs are. This can be determined through assessment or feedback from the child's teacher.
⢠What strategies have you found help most when you start to work with a child?
š„I like to get to know the child and make them comfortable. It's always good to find what techniques work best for children too so this can also help their learning.
⢠How will you communicate with me, and how often?
š„I will keep a record of each session and report back after each session. I can also write reports if evidence I needed elsewhere
⢠How will you work and communicate with my childās teachers?
š„I will work alongside teachers if they recommend specific areas needing development. When asked for evidence or reports I can do this also where necessary
⢠How long is each tutoring session?
š„Sessions can range between 30 minutes to 90 minutes.
Block booking is available at discounted costs also.
⢠Whatās your policy for cancellations and make-up sessions?
š„Sessions will incur a 50% charge if cancelled less than 24hrs.
