Whiteley Primary School is hosting a fun-filled family Easter event, and we’re so egg-stra lucky to have been invited to run a craft and games station! 😊

Armed with their World Book Day tokens, the children excitedly explored the books available, carefully choosing their very own to take home. There were lots of big decisions, happy smiles, and plenty of “Look at this one!” moments along the way!

We gathered together to share a story as a group, the children listened beautifully, joining in with giggles, predictions, and lots of imagination.

What a wonderful way to celebrate a love of books and stories. 📖💫

We’ve had lots of rain this week, but that certainly hasn’t stopped us. Our Buttercups children have been busy exploring the wet weather—jumping in puddles, listening to the rain, observing changes outdoors, and learning all about what happens when the clouds roll in. So much curiosity, laughter, and hands-on learning, even on rainy days! ☔💧

Sophie Carlton💛💙 joined the Buttercups team in November

I am excited to join the Buttercups team and bring my passion for working with children to my new role.
I am level 6 qualified and have four years experience of working with early years children.
Throughout my career I have built strong relationships with the children and families I have been a key person for, and I truly enjoy helping each child to grow and thrive.
I am looking forward to gaining new experiences and continuing to develop my practice within Buttercups and being being part of the team.
I am looking forward to contributing my skills, knowledge and enthusiasm.

✨ Exploring Light and Learning! ✨

Our little learners had a glowing good time with our Lightbox activity today! 💡

Lightboxes are a wonderful way to spark curiosity and creativity in young minds. By exploring shapes, colors, and patterns on the illuminated surface, children strengthen their fine motor skills, visual perception, and concentration — all while having fun! 🌈

This hands-on sensory experience also encourages early concepts in science and art, helping children discover how light interacts with different materials.

At Buttercups, we believe learning shines brightest when curiosity leads the way! 💫

Autumn is in the air, and our preschoolers are exploring the magic of the season! Today, we are explored on an Autumn Scavenger Hunt — a hands-on adventure to discover the colors, textures, and treasures of Autumn.

We found:

🍎 Berries
🪶 Feathers
🍂 Sticks

Our little explorers used their senses to look, touch, listen, and learn — noticing how the world changes around them. 🍁
