Spending time outdoors can play an important role in children’s wellbeing, learning, confidence and development.

However, busy routines, safety concerns and limited access to outdoor space can make it harder for families, schools and carers to prioritise time in nature.

Today we held our Year 6 Leavers’ Assembly at St John’s Church, marking the end of a very special chapter for our wonderful Year 6 pupils.

The children shared treasured memories of their time at Hensingham Primary School and spoke so beautifully about their experiences, friendships and memories. We couldn’t be prouder of each and every one of them.

A huge thank you to Miss Murphy, Miss Harvey-Chadwick and all of our amazing staff who have supported, encouraged and inspired our Year 6 children throughout their journey. Another thank you to the children who performed guitar so well!

Our pupils have made us all incredibly proud, and while we’ll miss them greatly, we wish them every success and happiness as they begin their exciting transition to secondary school. Good luck, Year 6 – we know you’ll go on to achieve wonderful things! ❤️🤩

It’s been ‘party central’ in after school club this week…musical statues, pass the parcel and musical chairs followed by plenty of party food and some cooling down time during Toy Story 4!
