Nurturing Nursery & Primary School • Part of The Marches Academy Trust

ACHIEVEMENT THROUGH CARING

Our school has a very special and unique character, steeped in history dating back to the late 18th Century and built upon its Christian values of faith, love, respect, thankfulness and fellowship. Our vision is to ensure that our curriculum, which is very personalised to the interests of our children and the rural community around us, enables all children to reach the

ir God-given potential and to be the very best they can be. Our staff are all dedicated to helping our children to become responsible, caring and reflective young people who participate fully in school life, and the life of our wider community. We are part of The Marches Academy Trust, and as such we firmly believe in the Trust’s vision of ‘Achievement through Caring.’ Lower Heath has a supportive and nurturing ethos where the children are at the heart of everything we do. As a result, our children are positive, resilient and confident, and we are all incredibly proud to be part of our school | >> marchesacademytrust.co.uk

Hopefully you will find everything you need to know about our school on our website, but should you need any further information, or you would like to look around our school, please contact us to arrange a visit. We would be very happy to show you around and the children and staff would give you a warm welcome | >> lowerheath.co.uk

Choosing our End of Year Pupil of the Term is always one of the most difficult decisions we make. We are fortunate to have so many wonderful children who make us proud every day.

This award is given to those children who consistently represent our school brilliantly and demonstrate our Christian values of Love, Respect, Faith, Thankfulness and Fellowship in all that they do. They are positive role models who let their light shine through their actions, attitudes and kindness towards others.

A huge congratulations to Jayden, Anna, Harper and Olly on being named our End of Year Pupils of the Term. Thank you for being such fantastic ambassadors for Lower Heath and for showing our school values each and every day.

Keep letting your light shine always! ⭐️✨

What a joyful morning as we came together with the families of our Year 6 leavers for the infamous end of year production!

There was laughter, music and plenty of memorable moments as our wonderful children took to the stage for one final performance of the year.

A special thank you goes to Mr Holt-Williams, who brilliantly led the celebration and took the time to recognise each child with their own personal award, highlighting the unique ways they have excelled during their time at Lower Heath. It was a true reflection of what makes our school so special: always spotting the good in everyone and celebrating the strengths that make each child shine.
As our Year 6 pupils prepare to take their next steps into secondary school, we are sure they will do so with great confidence. They leave us as kind, capable and resilient young people, ready for the opportunities and challenges ahead.

Year 6, thank you for the memories, the smiles and the contribution you have made to our school family. We know you are prepared for your futures and we cannot wait to see all that you achieve.

Let your light shine in everything you do. ⭐️💛🌟

🌟 Primary Futures at Lower Heath 🌟
A huge thank you to the wonderful members of our Lower Heath community who gave up their time to inspire our children this week during our Primary Futures sessions.
We welcomed visitors from a wide range of careers, including an IT specialist, scientist researching DNA preservation, air cabin crew, massage therapist, dolphin trainer and many more. Their stories helped open our children's eyes to the incredible opportunities and careers that await them in the future.
These experiences are invaluable in broadening horizons, raising aspirations and showing our pupils that anything is possible.

Thank you to everyone who helped make Primary Futures such a success! 💙

🔬 Science in Kingfishers 🔬

Over the past few weeks, Kingfishers have been conducting a scientific investigation exploring the question: "How does food affect muscle fatigue?"
This week, we completed our enquiry by analysing our results and presenting our findings in a creative way. The children worked in groups to write scripts and used their Mini Me puppets to share their conclusions with the class.
We were incredibly impressed with the children's scientific thinking, teamwork and presentation skills. They communicated their findings clearly and confidently, demonstrating a brilliant understanding of the investigation process.
Well done, Kingfishers! 🌟🧪👏

Nursery Focus Story, Fireman Sam: The Kite

Through this story, the children have explored the characters, settings, and events. We talked about what happened at the beginning, middle, and end, discussed how the characters felt, and made predictions about what might happen next. The children were encouraged to retell the story using pictures, props, and role play, helping to develop their language, communication, and comprehension skills. We also explored important themes from the story, such as staying safe, helping others, and working together.

Kingfisher's first residential trip to PGL happened this June and the children are still talking about it! The Year 3 and 4 children were an absolute credit to our school. They were wonderfully behaved, looked after one another, showed kindness and encouragement, and made all of the adults incredibly proud.

During the trip, the children challenged themselves with activities including abseiling, Aeroball, rock climbing and mini-scootering. We also enjoyed a lovely campfire evening with stories and hot chocolate before settling into our cabins. The children loved the experience of sharing rooms with their friends and having a little extra independence. For many of our children, this was their first residential trip, and what a memorable experience it was!

The PGL staff were so impressed by the children's attitude, determination and resilience throughout their stay that every child received a certificate to recognise their achievements. Well done, Kingfishers – you truly deserved it! 🌟

At Lower Heath, we are lucky to have some amazing grounds that make playtimes and lunchtimes extra special!

Our children love making the most of everything on offer, from scaling our climbing walls and enjoying Wimbledon-inspired tennis, to getting involved in dance clubs with friends. For those who prefer a quieter moment, our beautiful spiritual garden provides the perfect place for activities such as a classic game of Heads Down, Thumbs Up or simply spending time reflecting and relaxing.

We believe that playtimes are an important part of the school day, helping children to stay active, build friendships and create happy memories.

Why not come and see what Lower Heath has to offer? We'd love to show you around and share what makes our school such a special place to learn, play and grow. Contact us to book in your tour now: lowerheath.co.uk/communications/
