Our curriculum is planned carefully from Nursery to Year 6 through relevant themes and contexts, with a natural progression of key knowledge and skills. Pupils also follow a rigorous daily timetable of daily phonics, reading, writing and mathematics, following well structured programmes such as ‘Read, Write Inc’ and ‘Kinetic Letters’. This ensures pupils develop the key knowledge and skills required to have the very best start in their education and a lifelong love of learning. We ensure pupils are active throughout the day and learn in a range of environments, including outdoor learning in our forest school, sports on the school field and cookery in our outdoor kitchen. We offer a range of clubs during lunchtimes and after school, to help pupils realise and develop their individual interests and talents. As a Church of England Primary School we value the part that the local community has in our pupils learning. We work closely with the Reverend from Christ Church, Tilstock to ensure the Christian values are evident throughout daily school life. We provide all pupils with a safe and caring environment where they can shine bright and reach for the stars to achieve their given potential. Children’s spirituality and well being is nurtured and supported through our daily worship, Rest Easy programme, mindfulness sessions and Nurture room. We offer wrap around care from 8:00am in our breakfast club till 5:45pm in our ‘Kids zone’ after school club. We also offer a bus service from surrounding areas making choosing the right school for pupils an even easier change to make. As we reshare our Learning for Life Framework animation, we're proud to highlight how our schools work together to ensure every child receives the right support, at the right time, in the right setting.

At The Marches Academy Trust, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to thrive. Our Learning for Life Framework helps us create inclusive, nurturing environments where children and young people can succeed academically, socially and emotionally, regardless of their starting point.

Take a few moments to watch the animation and discover how we're removing barriers, building belonging and creating opportunities for every child to achieve their full potential. 🎥✨

📖🌟 Celebrating a love of poetry! 🌟📖

Poetry plays an important role in developing memory, building empathy and helping children explore rhythm, expression and confidence in speaking.

Earlier this year, many of our pupils took part in our whole-school Poetry By Heart event and were automatically entered into the national Poetry By Heart competition. The standard of performances was exceptional, with children showcasing their confidence, passion and talent for recitation.

While none of our entrants made it to Shakespeare's Globe this year, we are incredibly proud to celebrate our top three performers, who received special certificates of recognition for their outstanding efforts.

🌟 What an adventure for Year 6! 🌟

Children in Year 6 had an amazing time taking on the challenge of escaping the islands at Alderford Lake.

Working together to solve clues, unlock boxes and crack a series of riddles and puzzles, they demonstrated fantastic teamwork, resilience and problem-solving skills throughout the experience. It was wonderful to see them supporting one another, staying determined and embracing every challenge along the way.

Well done, Year 6, on a fantastic achievement and a memorable day of learning and adventure! 👏

🌟 A fantastic morning of collaboration and creativity! 🌟

Children from both Tilstock CE Primary School and Longlands Primary School joined our Executive Headteacher, Mrs Kaminski, on a visit to Oakmeadow CE Primary School as part of a special Trust project.

It was wonderful to see young minds from across our schools coming together to share ideas and learn from one another. Opportunities like this help to build confidence, develop friendships and inspire children to think creatively while working as part of a wider school community.

🗿🎨 The children in Badgers have been getting creative in art as they learned all about gargoyles!

The class explored the fascinating history of gargoyles, studied different examples and sketched their own designs before bringing their ideas to life in clay. It was wonderful to see the children using their imagination and creativity to create their very own unique gargoyles.

Projects like this help develop artistic skills, historical understanding and confidence, while giving children the opportunity to express themselves through hands-on learning.

Well done, Badgers, on your fantastic creations. We can't wait to see what you make next! 🌟

📚🌟 Fantastic phonics success at Tilstock CE Primary School! 🌟📚

Every year, Year 1 children across the country take the Phonics Screening Check, an important milestone in their early reading journey.

We are delighted to share that 88% of our Year 1 children passed the check this year, exceeding the national average of 80%!

This is a wonderful achievement and reflects the hard work of our children, the dedication of our staff and the support of our families. Developing strong reading skills opens the door to a lifetime of learning, and we could not be prouder of what our children have accomplished.

A huge well done to all of our Year 1 children. You should be incredibly proud of yourselves! 👏

🌟 What an incredible year for our Tilstock One Voice Team! 🌟

Our One Voice Team spent time reflecting with Mrs Kaminski on their inspiring "Different Not Less" project and all they have achieved over the past year.

Led entirely by the children, the project has helped raise awareness and understanding of a range of disabilities and conditions through a series of impactful initiatives. From hosting a visit from author Michael McCarthy and creating a sensory corner, to raising £72 for epilepsy awareness, organising the Colour Run for Autism, marking Diabetes Day and even learning Braille, their efforts have made a real difference to our school community.

Every idea was developed, planned and delivered by the team themselves, demonstrating outstanding leadership, empathy and determination throughout the year.

We are incredibly proud of everything they have accomplished. They have inspired others, championed inclusion and shown that every child can make a positive impact when they have a voice.

Well done to our amazing One Voice Team and thank you to Mrs Kaminski for supporting them on this remarkable journey. 💙
