We’ve had such a brilliant day filled with dancing, laughter, fun and lots of fabulous energy! 🥰

DOING IT FOR THE ARTS! 🌟🎭

Today, I had the opportunity to meet with my local MP, Alison Hume for a really important conversation.

I’ve come away from the meeting feeling genuinely listened to, and like our children that I’m fighting for are high on her priority list.

Nothing was brushed off or dismissed. Instead, there was a really open and constructive conversation, with real solutions discussed and practical things identified that can be put in place.

I’m hopeful that today’s meeting can be the beginning of some meaningful action and a positive change for the world of drama and dance, first locally but hopefully; nationally!

Our fight in bringing back as a mandatory subject continues, and I’m hopeful for new discussions with the DFE.

I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have my concerns, ideas and experiences heard, and I’m looking forward to seeing where this conversation leads.

✨ Building confidence

The day has been specifically designed for our younger dancers, so it will be fun, relaxed and age-appropriate, without being too full-on.

Was nice to hear the letter about education in Whitby being mentioned again too.

Much more than a dance school, I want to improve not just performance opportunity for kids, but help with them speech, conversation, eye contact and so much more that is sorely lacking!

Despite funding cuts across all the sectors, I will continue to fight for what is important. 🧡

I was absolutely delighted yesterday to be informed on Anna and Winnie's GCSE Performing Arts Achievements... 🥹✨

Anna received a Distinction* (star) in Dance and also ended up with top marks in her practical dance for GCSE P.E!

Winnie received A* in Drama alongside many other remarkable results.

We are only a small part of their education, but these results are down to their hardworking and dedicated attitudes! 🧡

We have taught both girls since they were very very young, and it has been a pleasure to watch them grow over the years. They're both back in September to turn up the heat and work even harder! 😱⚡

Absolutely loved our week and trip back to East High! Camp Colebrooke has a special place in our hearts and it's something we intend to keep going. 🧡

Day 3 has brought us the return of Gracie Boocock as our Guest Judge for Colebrooke's Got Talent! 🧡 (a workshop tradition)...

Followed by the tweaking of 'Stick To The Status Quo'!

Ready for our show tomorrow! We haven't even had time to get to the last 3 pages of the script because we've been too busy having fun! 🤣...but as they say, the show must go on! ✨
