Today we had a surprise visit from Professor Marvel, Mechanic Mary and Matt the news reporter! The Professor and Mary were from a travelling exhibition and had time traveled 200 years into the future. They told us all about how they entertained people from their world and we spent the day exploring the arts and getting creative. We tried out drama, poetry, hat making and photography. It's been a blast (from the past)!

🌊 What a shore-ly amazing day! 🦀☀️

Our infant children had a whale of a time on their beach adventure to Robin Hood's Bay alongside our friends from our federated school, Danby CE Primary School.

The day was packed full of exciting seaside discoveries! We explored the fascinating rock pools, finding crabs, limpets, seaweed and so much more, before becoming young palaeontologists as we searched for fossils hidden amongst the rocks. The creativity continued with some beautiful beach art using the natural treasures we found along the shoreline.

By the end of the day, we were all covered in sand, soaking wet and sporting some windswept hairstyles—but that's the true sign of an unforgettable adventure filled with learning, laughter and lots of fun!

A huge thank you to North York Moors National Park for leading such an engaging day and sharing their incredible knowledge and expertise with us. We learned so much about seashore habitats.

Another big thank you to Dollies Sweet Shop for the delicious ice creams that were the perfect way to end our visit, and to FOES for kindly funding this special treat for every child.

We had an o-fish-ally fantastic day and have made memories to treasure for years to come! 🌊🦀🍦

😎We've had the most a-maize-ing day out at York Maze for our Egton and Danby Schools Y6 Leaver's Trip today. 🌽 There was a corn-ucopia of fun, games and activities to take part in, we were maize-merised! 🍔 There was ear-resistible food from the Fodder Barn and the whole day was un-corn-ditionally fun with pun after pun! 😜 Thanks to everyone who made it happen! 🙏

On Friday, the Juniors had a fantastic day at Flamingo Land. We began the day with a talk from one of the zoo keepers about evolution and inheritance and discussed how different species have adapted to their environment. The childnren had the opportunity to hold a stick insect and stroke a tenrec which we learned was very closely related to an elephant. Our trip concluded with exploring the zoo. It was a very hot trip, but the children all did us proud and we had a great time! 🦁🐘🦒🌳🎟️

🎵🎷🪈 Today, the Juniors were visited by Mr Cross and Mr Butterfield who brought in a selection of woodwind and brass instruments. They explained how to play each one and then gave the children a demo. They finished the session playing 'Golden' on the flute, clarinet and saxophone. 🪈 🎷🎵

⭐ A fantastic, albeit windy, day for Year 5 and 6 at the YCEP Schools Jubilee Cup today. Everyone took part in some fantastic sporting events: flat races, kick rounders, long distance running, standing jump and howler throwing. 🏃🏻 They even managed a quick game of 'Duck, Duck, Goose' with Hawsker while we waited for the results🏆The children showed great teamwork, resilience and sportsmanship! Well done everyone⭐

Mrs T was in charge of Forest School this afternoon and what a great time we all had. We started off by going on a mini beast hunt, identifying what we had found and then sketching them. Half way through, we stopped for a tasty treat of hot chocolate and biscuits, before making our favourite minibeasts out of clay! 🐞🕷️ 🔎

We are very proud of our lovely Year 6 today. 😊 This morning they baked some beautiful scones and this afternoon hosted the Egton Ladies Group Annual Cream Tea. 🍓 After touring the school and hearing all our latest news we all enjoyed a cuppa and a strawberry cream scone or two! 😋
