Acorns Nursery Class, part of Wheatley CE Primary We areproud to be part of Wheatley CE Primary School. The most recent Ofsted inspection rated the setting as 'Good'.

Nursery and school work closely together to build firm foundations for future learning for children from the age of 2 up to school age. Wheatley Playgroup was formed in 1965 and later became Wheatley Pre-School. We are proud to be one of the longest running Pre-Schools in the county. We now proudly part of Wheatley CE primary school since 2022 and have rebranded as Acorns nursery. Acorns is a smal

l and friendly setting in the grounds of Wheatley Primary School and enjoys strong links with the school and Cool Kids Club. Our aims are to provide good quality, affordable care and education in a safe, secure and stimulating environment to children from the ages of 2-4 years old. We are an approved setting for grant funding for eligible two year olds, 15 hours for eligible 3-4 year olds and 30 hours for eligible 3-4 year olds. We provide full or partial day care from 8.50 am until 3 pm term time only.

We had a great visit last week at OSJCT Wellford Gardens, the resident helped us make bird feeders and shared there expertise in flower arranging to help us make a beautiful bouquet. We also had some helpers from further up in Wheatley CE Primary School. Our year 6s held our hands while we walked and showed us how to be safe when crossing the roads. They also helped us with the activities at Wellford and helped us clean our hands ready for our snack. Wheatley CE Primary School OSJCT Wellford Gardens

This week in Acorns we have been adding some new and exciting areas to our garden. Last week we started planting Herbs into our herb garden which we will be able to use in our outdoor kitchen (if you have any herbs that you could donate we will happily add them in to our herb garden).
We are also creating an exploration area this week that we can dig in and explore with the magnifying glasses what we can find in the soil as we dig.

Another fab visit to OSJCT Wellford Gardens we had so much fun throwing ball into the big yellow trousers, painting flowers and enjoying a biscuit for snack. We all had a song song at the end which was enjoyed by the children and residents. We also had a vist from Honey the therapy dog who lived seeing the children and the residents. We look forward to our next visit after half term
