Following our current theme of counting and colours we decided to incorporate one of our favourite books into a super fun activity with so many opportunities to learn ⭐

Using lots of fine motor skills they pinched, rolled, squeezed and pushed to manipulate the playdough to create their very own caterpillars.

⭐ We counted the number of circles on his body, the number of eyes on his face. ‘My caterpillar has 2 eyes’ ‘1,2,3,4,5,6, mine has six circles’

⭐ We used lots of language skills to talk about the different sizes of our caterpillars. ‘Mine is giant!’ ‘Mine is a big fat one’

⭐ We were proud of our creations and what we had achieved. ‘Look at mine!’

⭐️ We showed lots of recall and attention, discussing what the caterpillar ate and how he makes a cocoon and turns into a beautiful butterfly.

These are just a few of many things the children have gained from this activity this morning, but most of all they’ve had so much fun! ⭐

I am finally able to share with you my Ofsted grading! ⭐

I am super proud of me and all my little besties here, I am so beyond lucky to do the job I do, getting to be so involved in each child’s learning, caring for them, giving them experiences and of course having fun! 🤍

Thank you to all my amazing families who continue to support me and of course choose and trust me with your babies. Forever grateful 🫶🏻

I had some gorgeous little helpers in the kitchen today preparing tea!👩🏼‍🍳

We peeled and chopped our vegetables, remembering to be careful whilst doing so! We mashed the potatoes and spoke again about being careful with the hot pans! 🥕 🥔

We used lots of fine and gross motor skills, encouraging movement and strength in our hands!

And of course, we got to taste our food and had lots of fun ⭐
