A new Year 6 tradition arrived at school today….the Taxal Leavers Path! 🧱🎨❤️

Year 6 have had a lovely couple of days designing and painting bricks to look like their favourite books. They then laid their bricks to make the start of the path! Even some of the staff got to have a go at laying a brick too 🤩

Each year the path will grow, with each Year 6 class leaving their legacy in the playground ❤️ We are not going to lie, it brought a tear to our eyes when it was completed today🥹

We would like to send a HUGE thanks to S Drinkwater & Son LTD who so kindly provided the materials and Dan at Robinsons Maintenance and Landscaping, who bought the bricks and gave up his whole day to help the Year 6s lay the path 🙌🏻🙏🏻

The path is yet to be sealed and finished so for now we ask that it is not walked on or around until September to avoid any damage to the designs ☺️

Yesterday, the year 1 class had 'the best day ever' when they visited the Sealife centre in Blackpool, ate lunch by the sea, had fun at the adventure playground in Lytham and were treated to an ice-cream before returning home.

Our amazing Year 6s are half way through their final full week of Primary School 🥹

Despite the heat, they have been loving wearing their leavers hoodies! So we wanted to say a HUGE thank you to Taxal & Fernilee Parents & Friends Association who organised these for the children! They checked all the sizes were right (and would fit for a long time 🙏🏻), ordered them and surprised the Year 6s with their hoodies at the end of SATs week!

We are ever grateful to our amazing PTFA! 🫶🏻🥰 We look forward to seeing loads of new faces at next year’s events. Your support is greatly needed and appreciated so that they can continue to do their amazing work for our children ❤️

It’s almost the end of term and our attention is now turned to our 2026 Y6 leavers 💜

At the end of each school year, the PTFA support Taxal and Fernilee CE Primary School to ensure that our outgoing Year 6’s make amazing memories of their last days at primary school.

There’s always lots going on in school on these last few weeks including a leavers assembly, receiving their year book, a final school production, as well as the leavers party and every child receiving a leavers hoody (look out for the children sporting these around school for the last week of term 😎)

These traditions are just one of the reasons our school and PTFA are amazing 💖

What an amazing day at Whaley Bridge Carnival!

We had sooo much fun on our float! Thank you so much to all the children who created the beautiful artwork for the float and brought such amazing, fun energy to the day! And huge thanks to all the staff that supervised the smooth running of the day! We really do love carnival day!

We won second place in the junior float category!! Hooray! What a great way to spend a Saturday! ❤️

🌿 Year 1 Outdoor Science Fun! 🌿
We dodged the dark clouds and made the most of the sunny spells to take our science learning outside today! ☀️🍃
The children explored leaf structures in a hands-on way by using hammers to gently bash leaves onto fabric, revealing beautiful natural prints. It was fantastic to see the different shapes, patterns and veins so clearly, and the results are simply stunning! 💚

Year 1 made the most of the sunny weather this afternoon with some outside art ☀️🫟

They used powder paint to make hand and foot prints. Then continued their theme of flora and fauna using mixed medium to draw beautiful flowers on their prints 🌸🌻🌼

Well done Year 1, the end results look amazing 🤩

Life Skills have had an amazing half term! They have:

📚 Been to the library
🍕Made home made pizzas, microwave cookies and food art
🍃Litter picking in the park
💙 Stay and Read at The Bridge Nursery

Wow! What a fun and busy time! They are ending the term with a super fun swimming session!
