Had a fabulous Saturday this week when a group of 4 lovely ladies came to celebrate their friend’s 50th birthday and make some beautiful jewellery in my workshop. The Seaglass was found on a beach when they were all on holiday together.

None of them had done anything like this before, only had a bit of a plan when they arrived and they’ve all gone away with some gorgeous pieces.

It's been a real pleasure to be able to make this stunning little galaxy bead with the ashes of a much loved kitty. The bead just sparkles! We included a found tooth from the little cat, and rolled the silver bail and bead caps with fur clippings to make a very personal keepsake.

Not everybody's taste but special for the owner. I'm so happy with how much you love it. xx

We had a fab one-to-one day in the workshop last week with Amy, who was an absolute novice.

She came with an idea of what she wanted, so we planned out the day. She learnt how to use a piercing saw to cut her sheet silver, anneal, chase and repousse in pitch, silver solder and keum-boo 24kt gold. She took away a sensational sterling silver pendant, 40mm wide, that she wore to a wedding this weekend. What a beautiful job, Amy!

In the last few days I've been really inspired by peeling paint, old doors and dilapidated fishing boats. So in a liberating departure from my usual precise style, today I've been exploring champleve, basse taille, firescale, abrasives and turquoise enamel, all fired up with a beautiful shiny finish. So much FUN!! Now to work out how to set them into wearable pieces!
