Losing over 60kg is quite literally life changing.

It changes everything.

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again,

I probably would only have a few more years left if I was to of continued on the path I was originally on.

However I can proudly say I’ve turned my life around and I’m now loving the journey of helping others with theirs.

Losing over 60kg has really given me a new lease of life. Something I never thought I’d have.

Sometimes it’s actually difficult to put into words and I’d rather just not drop a bunch or spill or waffle.

Increased Confidence,

Increased Health,

Social Anxiety,

Like I can’t sum it up any other way other than truly life changing.

The 'build' in body building is the toughest part.

For years I've identified myself and showcased the weightloss/fat loss side of it all.

The 61kg transformation, stepping on stage multiple times and doing a shoot.

But to truly build.

Build a physique, build muscle.

It's fu***ng difficult.

More the mental aspect than the physical aspect.

Flipping that switch and seeing food and nutrition as fuel.

I can preach and talk about and showcase it as much as I possibly can.

But putting it into practise is another story.

There's challenges, there's obstacles and there's a massive psychological aspect you have to overcome.

So flipping that switch from the 'weightloss guy' who's been through a dramatic transformation,

To the 'bodybuild' guy who needs to eat more, to build muscle.

Is fu***ng difficult.

I'm an open book.

It might not sound a lot,

'Mate just eat more and train hard'

Yeah sick. In reality I'm just not that simple

The scale is a snapshot. It’s not the story.

Water, sleep, stress, hormones, salt — the number moves for a hundred reasons that have nothing to do with your progress.

Let it dictate your decision and you’ll quit right before it starts getting good.

What actually works? Showing up.

Ticking the boxes,

Doing the session even when you don’t feel like it.

That's the stuff that matters, you don’t see it today..

But in 2 weeks, 4 weeks, 6 weeks, you do.

Consistency isn’t glamorous,

But it’s the only thing that’s ever actually worked, for anyone, ever.

Stop getting strung by the number on the floor.

Show up today,

Then tomorrow,

Then next week.

Do you set yourself up for failure or do you set yourself up for a winning week?

Now that fu***ng sounds cheesy as a Dorito but it's pretty simple.

Starting the week off as you mean to continue it is so important.

If I have a s**t Monday it's pretty much guaranteed I'll have a s**t week.

We're only human and I know not everyday is going to be 10/10

But I try and at least prevent it from happening, by setting myself week get the most out of it.

I'm proactive about hitting my goals, so yeah I try and get the most out of the week

Rather than dragging myself through the week, hitting Friday half arsing teething then using those dreaded words I fu***ng hate.

'Back on it Monday'

Get your week set up. Know what you want to achieve, and be proactive about doing it.

A few from the week where I didn't know my ar****le from my earhole.

Proper British saying that.

Turn up,

Do the grind,

Look to better than yesterday,

Build something for the future.

Kinda how things are going right now🤷‍♂️

There's no optimal time to get in shape and learn new things.

80% of the time my most productive periods when it comes to my training and nutrition is actually when I'm at my busiest.

You're more focused,

You're dedicated,

You're planned and productive.

So why are you trying to wait to for that clear period of time when nothings going on?

Waiting for that clear period in your calendar,

When, and I'm talking from experience and coaching clients who have done exactly this,

You're too relaxed, there's nothing driving you.

There's no motivation or discipline to need to get up and get your goals ticked.

So stop waiting for that clear period, start when you're busy.

You're more focused and more productive to get your s**t sorted.

Just going to leave this here.

Drink some tea, well coffee in my case..

And wait until motivation gets me to the gym.

Guys sorry to be barer of bad news but summers almost over.

It's getting darker earlier, the mornings already have a chill in the air.

That morning motivation will die out,

So what's going to get you to the gym in the colder months?🤷‍♂️

Or are you just going to put it off until it warms up again?

Get your goals set. Get a timeline.

Talk about it, and get consistent.

Honestly the numbers do not lie.

We can see through the BS, and the terminology you use around your nutrition and life style.

You've just never truly seen what you eat.

Picking off the kids plates,

The syrup in your daily Starbucks,

The nibble in the cupboards making dinner,

The coffee and pastry on the weekend,

That pint that doesn't hurt,

When my clients sign up to coach with me, the first thing they do is an assessment week.

Where they have to right down physically what they eat.

And I'm not taking the p**s here.

100% of the time I will receive a message of 'wow I never really knew i ate so much'

This is despite a week previously they say they 'don't eat much'

It's because they have to physically right it down and log it, it puts it into perspective.

And for me it doesn't just end after the assessment week,

I can see it throughout my clients coaching process.

So to hold them even more accountable.

Sometimes I want visual proof.

Just because they've entered '125g' of rice, does it mean they're actually eating it?

Or are they guesstimating and not tracking properly?

Because ultimately the number do not lie.

If you're in a deficit you should be losing weight if not seeing visual changes.

If you're seeing neither.

Then time to have a hard conversation with yourself.
