“I am NOT holding a snake.”

And then...

“LOOK AT ME!”

More photos from our Mini Beasts Holiday Club (Mondays children) because, quite frankly, I had far too many for one post!

But these ones made me think about something else I love about our Holiday Clubs.

Confidence.

Some of our children took one look at the creatures from The Ranch and were straight in there.

Others were absolutely, categorically NOT holding a snake.

So we never push.

They can watch. They can get a little closer. They can see their friends having a go. Maybe they'll touch it first.

And then suddenly...

They're holding the snake.

Or the giant millipede.

And the look on their face says EVERYTHING.

That's one of my favourite parts of these days. Yes, we're there for the science, but they're also making friends, trying new things, encouraging each other and discovering that sometimes they're a little bit braver than they thought they were.

And THAT is a pretty fabulous thing to take home from a Holiday Club.

Well THAT was a Holiday Club!

Our Mini Beasts Mini Professors were absolutely awesome yesterday.

We experimented, explored, played, made new friends, laughed A LOT and then Hobie arrived from the fabulous The Ranch with some rather fabulous visitors for us to meet and handle.

I absolutely love these days. I went to bed smiling as I kept remembering the smiles and excitement on all of our children's faces!

What I realised yesterday is that some of these children have now been coming back to my Holiday Clubs for nearly THREE YEARS. Others walked through our door for the very first time and hopefully will be returning.

Thank you to every parent who trusts my team and me with your children. We genuinely want them to have the BEST day with us, not just be looked after while you're at work or enjoying a child free day!

This Holiday Club was completely SOLD OUT, so if you're thinking about October Half Term, don't leave it too late.

Next up... October Half Term, and we're going SPOOKY and AUTUMNAL!

Monday 26th October, half day, ages 4 to 8

Tuesday 27th October, full day, ages 5 to 10

Expect plenty of hands on science, experiments, games and all the slightly weird and wonderful things I can come up with around autumn and Halloween.

And I’m thinking about adding a completely different full Holiday Club day on Wednesday 28th October too.

For Wednesday, just add your child's name to the waiting list. Once I know there's enough interest and I can get my fabulous team together, I'll let you know if it's going ahead.

So if your Mini Professor would happily spend TWO days of their half term with us, get their name down!

Not just childcare

This is not just a “keep them busy for a few hours” holiday club.

Although, obviously, keeping them busy is also quite useful during the summer holidays.

Mini Professors Holiday Clubs are hands-on, practical and full of real learning wrapped up in fun.

Children get to investigate, observe, ask questions, test ideas and build confidence while exploring a brilliant science topic.

Our August topic is Mini Beasts, and our full day includes real creatures coming in for children to meet and handle.

Monday 24th August
Half day, 9am-12pm
Ages 4-8

Tuesday 25th August
Full day, 9am-3.30pm
Ages 5-10
