We continue to build upon our strengths and ensure that we are going above and beyond to provide an environment that supports each and every child who attends Ivy House. So much to celebrate and plan ahead for!

We ensure our children have regular access to the outside. It might be in our garden, on a trip, some fresh air in the buggies or a local walk and explore! We understand how important this is. It’s important for physical and mental well being too! We are even planning ahead for the coming months to ensure we are fully equipped to splash in puddles and continue to enjoy exploring the great outdoors in all weathers!

Where confidence grows naturally…. Ivy House is more than a nursery, it’s a 2nd home. Every smile, every cuddle, every messy masterpiece and every milestone is made possible by our incredible team. 💫

Well, it’s been a bit of a week here at Ivy House!!! But a great end! We today had our unannounced Environmental Health inspection and got a 5! Well done to our Chef Michael and our team. Have a fab weekend and thank you to everyone for such wonderful support this week. 💚

Making “blue lemonade,” “lemon soup,” “orange juice,” “perfume,” and more! We’ve explored pouring and scooping, counting, our senses, describing words, turn taking and so much more 💙🍋

We are excited for Spring! We’ve been creating our own Easter chicks, no print outs here, child led creations only!! We’ve enjoyed exploring the soil, enjoying some newly created areas, accessing books in all of our spaces and of course our trips and outings too!

We are focusing on adding more numbers to our environment and in our play and learning. Building upon our Maths! This isn’t always in a way that’s obvious! Our box of technology is a firm favourite. We can look for numbers, talk about quantities, search for our age! It’s fun pressing the buttons and even pretending to be on the phone (building upon our communication and listening) so it really makes number recognition more fun! Just one simple idea.

We’ve added some text and print across the nursery. Encouraging our children to notice signs in our environment, looking for letters, matching the sounds to our names or just building our awareness of text. Can you search for road signs or familiar logos? Car journeys are great for this! We will be adding some number lines to our spaces, things like menus and cook books too and other things to keep our environments exciting! Just some extra pictures too! Adding to our curiosity approach feel and also working what we can do next to enhance our sandpit!
