Another Great Days Training with ELAN - Extend Learning Academies Network

Today is a really busy INSET (In-service Education and Training) day. Schools have INSET days each year when children do not attend school but all staff are required to attend for training and completing administrative tasks.

Among plenty of other activities, here is an insight into some of the professional development taking place today:

• Emergency Paediatric First Aid training - led by Craig Young and team from REACT Training.

• Extend Letters and Sounds Phonics training - led by Penny Boardman - developing subject knowledge and understanding of the Extend Letters and Sounds programme including the use of Quick Fire Phonics.

• Sensory Processing training led by Cat Wright. People with Sensory Processing Disorder may be extra sensitive to or not react to sensory input, depending on how they are affected. If there is a problem with the way a child processes sensory information, this can result in delays in development and can be extremely uncomfortable for a child.

• Using Ladders Safely training led by Clive Farmer at Mendip Green. Ladders and stepladders are not banned under health and safety law. The law calls for a sensible, proportionate approach to managing risk, and ladders can be a sensible and practical option for low-risk, short-duration tasks so training on how to keep yourself and others safe is essential.

Stepping out of my comfort zone to share something special today. Over the weekend, I was deeply humbled as two recent clients shared the screenshots below as testimonials of their experience.

Reflecting on these testimonials, I was reminded of the core reasons behind initiating React! First Aid Training nearly three years ago. My primary goal has always been to make First Aid training enjoyable, fun, and engaging while equipping learners with the essential skill set to potentially save a life.
