Another end of an era 😢
I want to thank your parents for letting me have the pleasure in teaching you all for the past couple of years, and thank you to the little ones for being awsome weve had an incredible year so I wish these little ones good bye and good luck for their future. ###

Our celebrations have begun and will continue over the next week due to some of the children being off for half term.
Today we made playdough and added food colouring to make different colours. The children made cakes with the playdough, we then iced some real cakes for afternoon tea, and danced to party music. And we all had our faces painted of the Union Jack.

This month we are getting ready to celebrate the queens 70th jubilee. And what a celebration it will be. With this in mind it will enable me to incorporate our British values into the childrens learning.

The British values are:
DEMOCRACY - How and why we vote
THE RULE OF LAW - the children being involved and working together in making fair rules for our setting.
MUTUAL RESPECT - working together to help one another.
INDIVIDUAL LIBERTY -making our own choices.
TOLERANCE OF THOSE OF DIFFERENT FAITHS AND BELIEFS - we learn about different faiths and cultures from around the world.

So far this month we have talked about how the Queen, became Queen. We have looked at pictures of London landmarks The Palace, Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament. The children have voted on what activities they should have out, and they have worked together on compromise and making choices.
The children voted in favor of the puppet theatre so they could tell their own story of kings and queens and their imaginations took them to adding in dragons.
We have had a day trip out to Bishops Palace and gardens and the children loved seeing the 9 day old baby cygnets. They had lots of fun playing in the 'dragons Laire' too.
The children have also enjoyed making their own queens and crowns ready for the big party week.

Yesterday we did some letter recognition and pen control activity followed by lots of free play.
The children used their imagination and worked well together, They decided they were going to build a castle.

We have had lots of fun today celebrating our queens 96th birthday. We played with coloured sand, cleaned all our chairs and slide and let them dry in the sun shine. We read a lovely story called "BELLES BIRTHDAY" and we did some mark making with paint using the colours of our British flag. We then sang happy birthday to the Queen.

We had a lovely sunny day today.The children enjoyed exploring crazy foam and Mark making using their hands and fingers....

We had a lovely sunny day today.
The children enjoyed exploring crazy foam and Mark making using their hands and fingers.
We also had fun using the diggers and water beads the children did lots of tipping and pouring and squashing the beads in their hands.
After lunch we we sat and listened to the story "Ted's new shed" And we sang some of our favourite nursery rhymes.

We had a lovely stroll around the apex park we took the pushchairs. This helped contribute to the childrens physical development. We fed the ducks and swans and had time for a play in the play park. The children were all worn out after and fell straight asleep in the car on the way home.
