Free School Meals: Important Update for Families

From September 2026, all households receiving Universal Credit may now be eligible for free school meals.

This could save families up to £495 per child each year while ensuring children have access to nutritious meals that support learning, wellbeing and development.

Weston-super-Mare AFC Women are delighted to announce the launch of our brand-new FA Wildcats sessions, providing girls aged 8-11 with the perfect introduction to football in a fun, safe and welcoming environment.

Starting this season, our Wildcats programme will run every Monday and Friday from 5:00pm – 6:00pm, offering young girls the opportunity to develop their football skills, make new friends and build confidence through exciting and engaging sessions led by FA-qualified coaches.

Whether your child has never kicked a football before or is looking for a fun place to play with other girls, Wildcats is designed to inspire a love for the game through enjoyable, non-competitive activities. The programme focuses on developing fundamental movement skills, teamwork and confidence while ensuring every participant has plenty of fun.

The new sessions form part of Weston-super-Mare AFC Women's growing commitment to providing opportunities for girls of all ages and abilities, creating a clear pathway from introductory football through to our Girls Academy teams.
