121 Turnaround mentoring promotes and supports the emotional and mental wellbeing of individuals, by facilitating tailored care plans to suit specific and often complex needs, whilst delivering a high standard of personalized care. 121 Turnaround was created to address the growing need for mentoring support of vulnerable members of the community, with aim of producing focused, realistic and practi
cal programmes to support all areas of integration back into society, school, education, training, further education, apprenticeships, work experience or family life. With many years of professional mentoring experience, through challenging placements amongst the community, 121 Turnaround has established strong relationships with local authorities, such as Somerset County Council and South Gloucestershire Count Council, The Emergency Services, Secure Units and Care Placements.
121 Turnaround has the ability and experience to succeed as a leading mentor provider in Somerset and Surrounding area. The mentoring relationships often prove to reduce offending and anti social behaviour, thereby benefiting communities as well as the young people themselves.
121 Turnaround works with and engages any referred mentee, through regular mentoring sessions, which are bespoke and tailored specifically to each individual. These Sessions are designed to support the referral information received and the subsequent goals and targets that need to be met in order to help the mentee achieve positive life changes. The team manages and delivers key services through prevention and intervention, in partnership with a wide range of statutory, voluntary and commercial organizations. Using a targeted, well-organized support care plan, 121 Turnaround aim to identify needs, and change lives in a positive way.
121 Turnaround forms strong mentoring relationships with the client, and aim to create positive changes that have a direct impact on young peoples attitudes and actions. These young clients should develop a trusting relationship with their Mentor, which can form their most significant source of support and the foundation for sustained behaviour change.
121 Turnaround are keen to work with clients in the outdoors, where the Mentors are able to incorporate opportunities in bushcraft, nature awareness and other outdoor experiences. This provides opportunities for those who are perhaps, less keen on the more traditional classroom environment. In the individual development plans, both practical and emotional needs are met through working in a variety of settings, through sports activities, outdoor pursuits such as bushcraft, navigation, fishing, shooting and other activities, all with a focus on identifying the relevant issues and creating unique 'Turnaround' model of care on a one to one basis. By validating experiences and talking extensively, Mentors are in a unique position to help young people process their experiences, and make some sense of themselves. All activities encourage practical problem solving, team work skills; personal responsibilities and respect for others; physical activity , health and wellbeing; environmental awareness and conservations. These can be sessions lasting a few hours or overnight stays. 121 Turnaround can tailor programmes to cater for unique requirements and have the team with the skills to provide the service. The 121 Turnaround programme targets the most disaffected, disadvantaged and vulnerable children and young people. 121 turnaround provide a service, in most part to young individuals between 13 and 25 years who are experiencing difficulties at home, in education and training, in care or possibly as prison leavers. Crucially, 121 Turnaround aims to create an environment that allows the young people to feel safe enough emotionally to engage. Referrals come from Local Authorities, Schools, Children's Social Care, Youth Offending Teams, The Probation Service and The Health Service. 121 Turnaround can work with clients whose family need support, or the individuals themselves are engaged in offending behaviour or abusing substances or alcohol, or are isolated through their ethnic origin or cultural background. Many of these children can find attendance and learning in conventional education challenging.
