The summer hols are drawing to a close… I have mixed emotions and I am not looking forward to Monday morning and the anxiety that school brings my daughter…

But we had some truly wonderful times! Chilling at home, a mad but awesome week with ALL the family in our favourite place in North Wales, then a trip to Edinburgh to see some fringe shows, and lovely Dunkeld to enjoy some glorious Scottish countryside. 💙

However.

I have spent the last week fighting a weird summer cold, and juggling work, 3 weeks worth of washing and housework and the two ‘dependents’!

One of whom didn’t want to do ‘anything’ ( 2 legs, not hairy 9 yr old Minecraft obsessed) and the other that wanted to do ‘everything’ ( 4 legs very hairy 2 1/2 yr old ball obsessed) !

I updated the website ages ago, forgot to post on here, didn’t manage to send any emails out and have now realised some of the dates are wrong! The studio currently looks like this! Oh and I only did one painting!

So thank you to the wonderful regulars that have re-booked, and the new people that have booked courses and classes in spite of the typos! 🙏🏻

The studio is now closed for the summer.
I am painting elsewhere today … the goal by the end of the week is to paint outside or at least out of the window!

I recently finished this - I am enjoying seascapes and landscapes but I might move back towards portraits perhaps!

The studio is hot but classes are still running for adults. We are powering through!!
Yesterday I definitely did too much moving around so I am taking the opportunity ( or the excuse) to sit still and do some planning for the Autumn/Winter and into 2027!!

What would you like to see more of, in terms of one-off workshops, classes and courses?!
If you have an idea then let me know and I’ll see if I can run it…

I have just realised I haven’t posted anything for ages!!
But I am still here!

Busy with the weekly classes, my lovely regulars and the Monday night course, which will start again from September. ( 7/8 weeks blocks of classes studying different mediums and techniques)

I have been doing some workshops in a care home in Uphill to create a collaborative display with the lovely residents and planning /prepping for a huge up-coming painting event for an engineering company!

I will be updating the website soon with new courses and workshops for Autumn/Winter!

I also continue to try to paint myself and one of these days might actually get around to putting some on the website for sale.

Below is the beginnings of the strangest but most wonderful and imaginative commission I have ever been asked to do… I can’t wait to show you when it is finished!

A great start to the term this morning, in the weekly class, with Georgina and Glen Davies!

They enjoy the Monday morning class as it is flexible and they can dip in and out to suit their busy lives.
Today we explored charcoal on large pieces of paper, working from images of fabric to create these wonderfully abstract pieces!

Heidi and Louise have made a brilliant start to their paintings in the watercolour painting course for beginners, and Heather has created her best work yet, in the Wednesday painting class!

You could still join us on a Monday night for the next 4 weeks : £80 - materials included or if you’d rather do a ‘one off’ , there is a watercolour painting workshop on Friday the 13th March , 12.15-2.45pm! £35- materials included!

Did you know, I am also a painter, as well as an art teacher?

This rather large beaut of a painting recently went to its, what do they call it? ‘Forever home’, although I would like to think it has gone to its ‘next’ home really…

It is a painting of a very special place, for the new owners, in Orkney. They go every year to the same spot, and look out at that view from their window. 🧡
