As I sit and reflect on the last few days, I'm struggling to find the words to express just how truly grateful and humbled I am.
To every parent, child, colleague and friend who has been part of my journey over the years... thank you. 🦋🦋
To the families of my wonderful Year 6 class, 2026- thank you for making my final day so incredibly special. Your generosity, kindness, beautiful cards and thoughtful gifts completely overwhelmed me. I will treasure every single one.
To the parents and children I have been fortunate enough to teach over the years, thank you for taking the time to send such heartfelt messages. Reading your memories, kind words and well wishes has been both humbling and emotional. Knowing that, even years later, you remembered me and reached out means more than I can ever say.
Over the week, there was so much I wanted to say, but my emotions simply got the better of me. I hope you all know how much your support, encouragement and kindness have meant throughout my career.
People often say teachers shape children's lives, but I truly believe the opposite is just as true. Every class I have taught has left its own mark on me. Every child has taught me something; every family has trusted me with what matters most to them, and for that I will always be incredibly grateful.
To every child who has walked through my classroom door over the years—thank you for the laughter, the questions, the funny moments, the challenges, the achievements and the memories. You have all played a part in making my career so rewarding, and I hope you know just how proud I have been to be your teacher.
To every parent, thank you for your trust, your support and your partnership. Your children are a credit to you, and it has been an absolute privilege to watch so many of them grow into the amazing young people they are today.
As one chapter closes and another begins, I leave with a heart full of gratitude and memories that I will carry with me forever.
Thank you, Washacre.
Thank you for the friendships.
Thank you for the laughter.
Thank you for the memories.
Thank you for allowing me the privilege of doing a job that I have loved for so many years.
And finally, to every child—past, present and future...
Keep believing in yourselves.
Keep making people smile.
Keep being wonderfully you.
And above all else...
🦋Always choose kind. 🦋
