Our new children are settling in well and getting to know our routines and environments, inside and out. For the past few weeks, our adult prepared invitations to play (usually but not always on a black builders tray/tuff spot) have been themed on a weekly focus, like 'farms' or last week, 'space' to coincide with national days. As well as these daily prepared play choices, the ladies prepare play inspirations that are influenced by the next steps and interests of their own key children. We try and use sensory play frequently, as this is the basis for children's early years development, which is why we like to be outside as much as we can - so many more experiences to see, hear, touch and smell.

The learning theme for the last week and a half of term is focussed on healthy eating - something the Early Years Foundation Stage welfare requirements have focussed on changing recently - we'll let you know about those changes soon.
