We are looking for volunteers to run stalls at our summer fete - it’s on the 12th July from 10-2. We have a few games, stalls and bouncy castles in mind that we would love a hand with.

If you were thinking of coming to the fete, why not get a few people together and base yourselves at one of our stalls? It’s a guaranteed seat and shade under one of our event shelters, you’d get free entry, it is actually pretty fun and it helps us out a ton!

All profits from our events go back into helping the school with resources, trips and opportunities that the children would not otherwise have access to. If you’d like to be a part of this, please don’t hesitate to get in touch!

P.S - Anyone looking to use this as an opportunity for work experience or to gain a reference towards future employment, please feel free to apply on the link below to make this an official process. This could be great for any young people looking to build up their CV!

In case you missed Miss Taylor’s post this evening:

Make The Rules Day is back Friday 14th March!

One of our post popular events, a letter should have gone home with your child today for our Make The Rules Day fundraiser.

To book the rules your child would like to make, please log on to www.pta-events.com/westburycejuniorschool, add the rules you have picked to your basket and check out with your child’s name and class. Rules cost 50p each to make. This is our first time using the payment platform for something this intricate so please do let me know if there are any issues!

Just some notes about Make the Rules Day to ensure that lessons can continue with as little disruption as possible:
- clothing, accessories and temporary tattoos need to be school appropriate
- snacks need to be nut free and an appropriate size for the children to eat at break time (no share bags)
- please no fizzy drinks, Prime, energy drinks
- teddies need to be smaller than 30x30cm
- cushions need to be a standard pillow (50x70cm) or smaller
- most importantly, enjoy the day!

Thank you, as always, for your continued support with our events :)

Message from Miss Taylor:

Good evening,
I just wanted to give you some advance notice: in a few weeks time we will be partnering with the Rags2Riches4Schools project. They are a wonderful team who work to reduce the amount of clothing going to landfill by repurposing, recycling or redistributing the donations. Right now the bulk of their clothing gets sent over to struggling nations such as Ukraine to help those affected by the recent conflicts. We also raise a little money for the school by taking part.
So, with Christmas fast approaching, we thought this would be an ideal opportunity for a clear out to make some room before Father Christmas visits! Any too small clothing, unwanted shoes or accessories would be very welcome. I’ve attached their list of what they can and can’t accept.
As soon as we have a collection date confirmed with the project, the children will be given collection bags to bring home (feel free to use clean bin bags if you’d like to get started before then), fill them up, and return to school on the collection date. Rags2Riches will come in and do a special weigh in of all of our donations and the school pta will receive a monetary contribution per kilogram of clothing we can collect.
You can clear some space, the clothing goes to a good cause and the school raises much needed funds too! It’s a win, win, win! We hope that you will join us in supporting this initiative and share it with family and friends for them to donate too. Thank you very much and I will share exact dates as soon as I am able.

Good afternoon, just a little reminder from the school office:
As of this term, the school lunch booking system will lock on a Thursday at midnight for the following week’s meals. These must be booked before then as we are no longer able to make on the day amendments to our system. If we do not have a lunch order, we will assume that a packed lunch will be provided.

The School Association are running their Autumn Art Competition between now and the 16th October. They are accepting A4 entries for 50p with prizes to be won 🙂 the winning artworks will also be displayed in the art gallery. I know they have already received a few entries and have been very impressed! We are looking forward to seeing how creative the children can get 🍁🎨🖌️

Don’t forget the Book Fair after school in the hall tomorrow! The children will have the opportunity to have a browse and a talk with the lovely people from Bookwagon during the day and parents are welcome from 3.05. We have been told they accept cash and card and will have lots of wonderful books available. We’re all really looking forward to it! 😊📚
