On Friday, we celebrated 100 years of inspiring curiosity, conservation and wonder. Across school, we created posters, fact files, documentaries and went litter picking around the school grounds :) Happy 100th birthday, Sir David Attenborough.

Comic Relief 2026 – Take Yourself Funny for Money!
This Friday we will be joining in with the Comic Relief 2026 campaign, themed “Take Yourself Funny for Money.”
A message will also be shared on Class Dojo but we wanted to give you a little heads-up. There is no pressure at all for families to donate or take part—this is simply a chance for the children to have a bit of fun while supporting a great cause.
If children would like to join in, they can come to school wearing something a little “funny for money.” For example:
Wearing odd socks
Wearing a top the wrong way round
Anything a little silly, mismatched, or fun!
Children will be coming around collecting donations. We’re looking forward to a day full of smiles, while raising awareness for Comic Relief!

Due to cold weather conditions around school, we are having a staggered opening. If children arrive before 10am, they will not receive an absent mark. Thank you for your support.

Our Year 5 children participated in an inter-school hockey festival at Bradford Grammar School. Using full size hockey sticks, hard hockey balls, gum shields and shin pads, on a full-size hockey pitch, the staff and student sports team at BGS led our Year 5 pupils through a skills session which then moved onto inter-school games. The children were a credit to our school and community. And yes, both our teams won all their games, showcasing their skills and teamwork. Well done to everyone! 🎉🎉🎉

Happy Halloween to everyone taking part tonight! 🎃 Remember to stay safe whilst you're having fun, just like Miss Wood, who happens to take dressing up very seriously! 😂 Please share your Halloween photos in the comments below and some more staff might even make an appearance! If you prefer, you can send them via Class Dojo and we can share them in class, next week! We hope you continue to enjoy your holiday and see you back in school on Monday 3rd November! :)

Year 3 had a fantastic visit to Hill Top Farm yesterday! We stroked some sheep, explored the meadows, fed the chickens and met Ella the cow and her baby calf! A fantastic day had by all and great to take our learning out, into the beautiful Yorkshire countryside! :)
