West Wycombe Preschool An Outstanding Preschool setting nestled in an area of natural beauty

West Wycombe Preschool has been providing Pre-School education for the children of West Wycombe and surrounding areas since 1974. We are a committee led pre-school offering a high standard of education to children from 2.5 to 4 years of age. We believe in the importance of educating through play and ensure the children can thrive in a fun and stimulating environment.

As we reach the end of the academic year we are lucky enough to receive some beautiful words from some of our parents and children which make us so proud to be part of this little preschool. I thought I would share some of them with you all ❤️

"Thank you for helping M flourish"

"I can't imagine anywhere else could have given them the love and care you provided.“

"I have really noticed that she is very school ready - and that is definitely not anything we've done!"

"The care that all the staff take - regularly taking trainings and implementing what you have learnt, new activities and programs, lovely daily updates on Tapestry, and writing such detailed reports. The investment you have in the preschool and the children and your care for their wellbeing is obvious. And we are so grateful for it!"

"She has loved all of the trips, stories, themes, play, games, and Neli, amongst other things: the trips to West Wycombe Park; on the bus to High Wycombe; to the playground; walks in the fields; Easter and Christmas songs at the church and egg hunts; ice cream shops in the garden; yoga; story week; hatching chicks; the new play equipment. The play set up by you all has been so engaging and creative - truly wonderful."

"thank you for making Preschool my favourite place to be"

"A tremendous thank you to each and every one of you for another wonderful year at preschool. I'm so grateful for everything you've done for our little A, who has grown and blossomed so much this year with your care, encouragement, and support."

And the one that almost reduced me to tears…

“They are thriving because of you."

❤️

🌳🐑 Learning about the countryside 🐑🌳

Our topic of the week has been all about the countryside. We have been learning about what we might see, hear, smell and even taste in the countryside!

The children then used their own ideas to create their very own countryside poems. We had some brilliant answers

🌼 J's poem

I can see flowers,
I can smell the trees,
I can hear a bear growling,
I can taste the flowers,
I feel happy.

🦉 E's poem

I can see an owl,
I can hear a squirrel in the flowers,
I can smell raspberries,
I can taste the raspberries,
The countryside makes me feel so yummy.

🦌 S's poem

I can see a deer,
I can hear a squirrel,
I can smell a skunk,
I can taste a hedgehog,
It tastes spiky!
The countryside makes me feel good.

We absolutely loved hearing all of their ideas and seeing their imaginations come to life 🌳

Please be aware

For our visitors at Cliveden, please be aware that we have Oak Processionary Moth (OPM) present in our gardens and woodlands. They are only found on oak trees. The caterpillars and their nests can cause a risk to people, dogs and wildlife. Please be aware that this can cause skin irritations, sore throat and itchy eyes.

Caterpillars move in nose to tail processions and form silky, web like nests on oak trees and their branches.

When visiting, please keep your dogs under close control and please do not touch the caterpillars or nests and keep your distance.

If you believe you have seen a nest of OPM, please report this to a member of staff who can inform our ranger team.

Could You Be the Missing Piece of Our Preschool Committee?

Our wonderful preschool is looking for a few friendly faces to join our committee! Being part of the committee is a fantastic way to support our amazing children, staff, and families while making a real difference in our local community.

We currently have a couple of exciting roles available:

Secretary
Love a good list? Organised and enjoy keeping things on track? As Secretary, you'll help coordinate meetings, take minutes, and keep everyone in the loop. It's the perfect role for someone who likes a bit of organisation and wants to be at the heart of the preschool.

Site & Safety Lead
Got an eye for spotting things that need fixing or improving? This role helps oversee the preschool's building, outdoor spaces, and health & safety. You don't need to be a builder or safety expert—just someone who cares about creating a safe, welcoming environment for our little learners.

Why join?
• Meet lovely local families.
• Help shape the future of our preschool.
• Gain new skills and experience.
• Be part of a supportive, friendly team.
• Make a real impact on the children in our community.

Whether you have lots of experience or none at all, we'd love to hear from you.

Every little bit of help makes a big difference, and you'll never be expected to do it alone.

If you're curious or would like to find out more (with absolutely no obligation!), email [email protected] or drop us a message.

We'd love to welcome you!
