Many students work incredibly hard but still fail to achieve the grades they are capable of.

The difference is often not effort, but understanding exactly what examiners are looking for.

✔ GCSE Business
✔ A-Level Business
✔ A-Level Economics

Lessons are tailored to the individual student and focus on developing subject knowledge, confidence and the examination skills required to achieve strong academic outcomes.

Hello and welcome to Crest Academic.

I’m Matt Ray, founder of Crest Academic and an experienced Business and Economics educator with over 20 years of teaching experience, including leadership as Head of Department, university lecturing and examination moderation.

I established Crest Academic to provide a more focused and structured approach to tuition, helping students develop not only subject knowledge, but the exam technique, analytical skills and confidence required to perform at their best.

I specialise in GCSE Business and A-Level Business & Economics tuition, working with students across the UK through online lessons tailored to individual needs and academic goals.

Thank you for following the page. I’m looking forward to supporting students and families as they prepare for the challenges and opportunities ahead.

Most students don’t underperform in Business & Economics because they lack knowledge.

They underperform because they struggle to apply it under exam conditions.

Structure, clarity and evaluation are often the difference between a B and an A.

Crest Academic was created to focus on what actually moves grades — not just content, but how that content is expressed.

Now accepting a limited number of GCSE and A-Level students for September 2026.
