The roots of The Puppet tree are firmly grounded in providing activities to support its local community and its branches have grown since its inception to include workshops. engagement activities, play, wellbeing initiatives, education, training, and many other community projects which help bring people together through the magic of puppetry. However, we are more than just a shop, we are a unique

theatre space where people of ALL ages can explore puppets and puppet theatre and the magic that surrounds it.

What an amazing day with BBC Radio Norfolk, Kayleigh Poacher, and all our friends, including Steve Hewlett Ventriloquist, Seaview Cafe, The Village Inn, Elizabeth Beston, Clive Chandler and Peter Cousins (and anyone else we’ve missed)! We’re so excited! BBC Radio Norfolk are featuring West Runton as part of their summer Staycation series and we’re delighted to announce that The Puppet Tree has been asked to host the event! Tune in to BBC Radio Norfolk between 10am and 2pm on Friday 31 July, when Kayleigh Poacher will be talking to guests from our village (and maybe a puppet or 2!) along with ventriloquist of stage and screen, Steve Hewlett (Steve will be doing a meet and greet in The Puppet Tree shop); Professor Clive Chandler (who will be bringing a traditional Punch and Judy show to the The Village Inn from 11.30) and Peter Cousins from the East Anglian Traditional Music Trust. It’s going to be such a fun day and we can’t wait!

We’re delighted to be running a sock puppet workshop tomorrow (Sat 18 July) at at 10.30am! You can book via the venue website. We’ll be making fairytale sock puppets, just like these guys!
