Today we read the story of Guy Fawkes and Gunpowder Plot. we made apretend bonfire with flickering 9fake) candles and some lovely sparkelers using sticks and leaves. We then sang some campfire songs and learnt a song about Bonfire night and fireworks, using our bodies to be a rocket, whizzer,riprap,banger,fountain and roma candle.

Wednesday 2nd April

It was our last Muddy Munchkins today, before the holidays and we had fun in the sun. We made Easter bunnies and eggs, went on an egg hunt and found the bunny and enjoyed carrying the eggs around in the basket. Some of us also had the chance to try using the bow saw to saw a chunk of wood.

Have a great break everyone!

Snack: Cheese straws, carrots, sour cream and chive dip with milk and water to drink.

Tuesday 1st April

We carefully decorated some Easter bunnies and wooden eggs today to prepare for Easter and in the afternoon, we hunted for eggs that the Easter Bunny had hidden for us. Some of us learnt how to use the bow saw to cut up a piece of wood. We also made gum ball pie in the mud kitchen and explored the sharks and sea animals in the water tray.

Snack: carrot sticks, cheese straws, sour cream and chive dip with milk or water to drink,

Monday 31st March

What a beautiful sunny day for the Muddy Munchkins!
The Muddies had great fun building a higher obstacle course to play on and although nervous at first they showed growing confidence and bravery when balancing at the top, well done Muddies.
This afternoon the children had an eggcellent time on an easter egg hunt and were very excited to see the rabbit at the end.
We will see our Monday Muddies after Easter now have a lovely break!

Snack : Cheese twists, sour cream dip and bananas

Wednesday 26th March

It was a beautiful day in the woods today. The Muddies have been busy making a lovely spring painting for their grown ups, using some paint and stencils. They listened really carefully to Nikki while she explained how to safely use a bow saw and some of the children had a chance to saw a block of wood themselves. In the afternoon, we had a small explore around the site and found some small Narcissus daffodils, which were like tiny bells!

Snack: Cream crackers, butter, salami, gherkins and raisins with milk or water to drink.

Tuesday 25th March

We enjoyed the sunshine today, playing with different ropes and some of us had the chance to use the bow saw and cut a chuck of wood. We had to be very sensible and wear protective gloves to keep us safe. Some of us made a special painting for our grown ups and in the afternoon, we went on a mini adventure and had fun hiding in the bushes.

Monday 24th March

The Muddies were true to their name today, and had some great fun making mud pies in the canopy kitchen they then made some fantastic hand prints with their mucky hands!
They also got a chance to cut some wood today using a bow saw, the children were very excited for this and quickly realised what hard work it was but this didn't stop them.
Go Muddies!!

Wednesday 19th March

Lots of woodland fun today with games like 'Moose on the Loose' and playing instruments together. Our lentils have sprouted and are growing well so we watered them too. We made delicious rose petal and hydrangea flower dishes in the mud kitchen. Some volunteers were helping on site today and one of them found a baby dormouse...he was so cute but a bit scared of us! Finally we explored the woodland, sliding and climbing the trees..What a busy day!

Snack: Rice cakes, butter, cheese and red peppers with milk or water to drink.
