🎨 What a colourful week we’ve had! 🌈

This week we’ve been having lots of fun exploring our brand new paint sticks! 🖍️✨

The children have loved experimenting with the bright colours, making marks, creating their own pictures, and adding stickers to make their creations even more special. It has been lovely to see their confidence and creativity grow. 💕

Our new paint sticks have been a big hit! They’re perfect for little hands and are a great option for children who enjoy creative activities but don’t like getting messy hands.

🌸 This week we’ve been learning all about the letter ‘f for flower! 🌸

A huge thank you to Bella for creating our beautiful flower wall for the children. 🌼

The children were so excited to help plant the flowers and carefully water them. They loved getting their hands dirty, talking about the different flowers and colours they could see, and learning how to look after them. It was wonderful to watch them work together, taking turns and helping one another to care for our new flower wall.

This activity supported the Characteristics of Effective Learning by encouraging the children to:
🌱 Play and Explore as they investigated the flowers, soil and water through creative experiences.
🌼 Be Active Learners by staying focused, showing perseverance and taking pride in caring for the plants.
🌸 Create and Think Critically as they made decisions about planting, discussed what flowers need to grow and shared their own ideas and observations.

We can’t wait to watch our flower wall bloom and continue caring for it together! 🌷💚

"Our Story of the Month for July is Duck in the Truck by Jez Alborough.

'Duck's truck is stuck in the muck, but luckily help is at hand in the form of a frog. When Frog and Duck fail to release the truck they enlist the help of a sheep in a jeep, and then a goat in a boat, who finally sets the truck free.'

🐞 Ladybird Fun!🐞

This week we’ve been exploring the wonderful world of ladybirds! We enjoyed sharing the story What the Ladybird Heard at the Seaside by Julia Donaldson before taking part in lots of exciting activities.

The children created their own ladybirds using paper plates, pipe cleaners and black spots, developing their fine motor skills and creativity. We also counted the ladybirds’ spots and talked about their six legs, helping to build our early maths skills through play.

Our investigation continued with a selection of insect books and toy insects, where we explored different bugs, learned interesting facts and had lots of conversations about the creatures we discovered.

It has been a fantastic week full of stories, creativity, counting and curiosity! ❤️🐞

“For the Love of Bees”
It makes you think, these little creatures are amazing and the most dangerous job of their short life is collecting Pollen & Nectar for the Colony to survive. ❤️

🐝 Bee Experience Day 🍯

What a lovely morning we’ve had learning all about bees! 🐝💛

A huge thank you to Rosie for coming in to share her amazing knowledge with us. We learnt so many fascinating facts about bees, how they make honey, and why they are so important. The children loved asking questions and getting involved throughout the session.

A big thank you as well to Honey Bee Happy for the delicious local honey - the children loved tasting it! 🍯🐝💛

We had lots of fun matching bees to their hive, making our own bee crafts, exploring real honeycomb, tasting honey on bread, and even trying on a real beekeeper suit! Seeing a real honeycomb frame up close was definitely a highlight.

To finish our bee adventure, each child took home a packet of wildflower seeds to plant at home. 🌼 We hope you enjoy watching them grow and helping to create a little haven for bees and butterflies.

It was such a fun-filled morning. We all had a wonderful time, learnt so much, and have come away with a real appreciation for these amazing little pollinators! 🐝🍯✨

On Monday 29th June, we are excited to welcome one of our lovely nursery mums, who will be giving the children a special talk all about bees.

The children will learn about how bees live, why they are so important, and what it is like to be a beekeeper. Rosie will also be bringing along some beekeeping equipment for the children to see and explore.

We may also have a small local honey tasting session. If you would prefer your child not to take part in the honey tasting, please send us a WhatsApp message to let us know.

We also have some fun bee-themed activities planned for the day, and we are looking forward to a wonderful learning experience for everyone.

We can’t wait to share photos and updates with you!
