📢 GCSE Results Day Reminder 📢

Students can collect their GCSE results on Thursday 20th August between 9:00am and 11:00am.

We look forward to seeing you and celebrating all of your hard work and achievements. Good luck to everyone receiving their results! 🎉

Results day can feel like a defining moment for young people, particularly when expectations are high or outcomes do not match what they had hoped for.

Our latest guide supports parents, carers and educators in helping young people approach results day with perspective, reassurance and confidence.

The guide explores:
• Setting the tone early and reducing pressure before the day
• Normalising different outcomes and preparing for next steps
• Staying calm, present and supportive when results arrive
• Exploring options and alternative pathways together
• Encouraging reflection without rumination
• Celebrating strengths, qualities and achievements beyond grades

With clear, practical advice, this resource helps adults support young people before, during and after results day, whatever their outcomes.

We're proud to share a fantastic professional development resource that we are pleased to support.

The Back to School After Brain Injury: Learning, Listening, Supporting Twilight Talk series, available through Nasen, provides practical guidance for education professionals on understanding and supporting children and young people with an acquired brain injury (ABI).

Kelly Holden-Smith , Head of Canterbury school is a member of the Educational Professionals Advisory Group (EPAG) developing resources and training alongside families and children. The three-part training series is now available through Nasen, the UK's leading SEND training provider.

The advisory group's work has also supported wider national initiatives, including contributing to educational resources, professional conferences and research aimed at improving outcomes for pupils with acquired brain injuries.

If you work in education or support children with SEND, we highly recommend this three-part series as a valuable CPD resource to build confidence and understanding of ABI in the classroom.

This is the second part of three-part webinar series is designed to support educators in understanding and responding to the needs of pupils with acquired brain injury (ABI).

Celebrating some of our former pupils and the journeys they've taken beyond our school. We're proud of all they have achieved and hope their stories encourage our current students to dream big, work hard, and believe in what's possible.

Their stories reflect the values we strive to nurture every day – Acceptance, Confidence and Perseverance.

Behind the scenes of Beyond The Classroom (BTC)! 🚁

Our pupils have been busy working with a professional videographer to create a brand-new promotional video for The Rosewood School website, giving viewers a real insight into life at our school.

Everyone headed outside as a drone captured stunning aerial footage to create an exciting 360° introduction to the video. Meanwhile, one of our pupils took on the role of interviewer, speaking with drone pilot Andy about how he became involved in Beyond The Classroom and what both he and our pupils have gained from the experience. The interview will also feature on our website as a testimonial to the impact of the programme.

The timing couldn't have been better! The pupil had a college Media interview later that afternoon and was able to take along photographs showcasing the fantastic work they had been involved in – a brilliant example of learning beyond the classroom leading to real opportunities.

Experiences like these help our pupils build Confidence, embrace new opportunities with Acceptance, and develop the Perseverance needed for their future success.

We can't wait to share the finished video with you!

Backed by £8.5 million of Department for Education funding, the programme will help more young people access meaningful workplace experiences, develop workplace skills and explore future opportunities.
