Personal Details

I have been enjoying childminding since May 2015, graded OUTSTANDING in my inspection October 2017. I am a qualified primary school teacher living in Kings Hill with my husband Alex, our daughter Charlotte, aged 10 and our son Henry who is 7

I offer childcare for children under 5 and before/after school care for children at Kings Hill primary school. I off

er the Free Early Entitlement. All 3 and four year olds and some 2 year olds are entitled. Contact me for further information about this. As a mother of two I appreciate that being apart from your child can sometimes be difficult; I therefore welcome communication through the day and provide daily email snippets, letting you know what we are up to including pictures and any new developments in your child. My home is equipped with a wide range of toys, books and activities suitable for all ages and stages of development. I also have a secluded, enclosed garden with a lovely Wendy house and a selection of outdoor toys and activities. My time with your child (0 to 5 yrs) is structured using the EYFS (early years foundation stage) framework to ensure the activities selected are tailored to your child’s learning and development needs, ensuring they have the knowledge and skills they need by the time they start school. Reference to this framework will be included in the daily snippets. Activities at home include - arts and crafts including painting and other messy play, water play, cookery, gardening, music time and story time; as well as free play for children to develop their independence. As well as spending time in my home we will be going on outings to local toddler and childminding groups, the library, children’s indoor play centres, local play parks and country parks, as well as occasional trips further afield to visit museums, wildlife parks and farms. I welcome suggestions from parents to attend specific groups or visit their favorite places. In the Kings Hill area we are very lucky to have an abundance of groups and classes available to us, and if our routine allows it, I will make efforts to attend groups suggested by parents to allow social continuity for the children. Finally, a little about my ‘little gems’; Charlotte, has a very kind nature, is gentle and loving and is very caring towards her younger brother. Henry is a cheeky, good-natured boy and I love watching his character develop as he grows. They love to play together as well as the other children in the setting. My Training

∗ City & Guilds Level 2 – Food Safety and Hygiene for Catering

Experience
In 2009 I was awarded a Bachelors of Education Primary, which I studied for while living in Sydney, Australia. Since then I have worked as a primary school teacher in the UK, gaining experience in teaching Nursery up to year 6. My teaching experience has been largely with reception, which covers the final stage of the EYFS. I feel that my training and the skills I have developed as a teacher and a mother will be very valuable to my role as a childminder. Contractual Details

My hours of business are 7am to 7pm, however I am willing to be flexible where possible to fit most people’s working patterns. I can provide all meals, snacks and drinks and I’m open to discuss any dietary requirements that your child may have; I appreciate these will vary from child to child according to their age and hours of care. Local drop offs / pick-ups may be possible for local schools dependant on individual requirements and the requirements of others in my care. Contact Details

💻 Keeping children safe online ❤️
I wanted to share this important guide from CEOP Education about how AI can be used to alter and manipulate images of children.
As a result, I have made the difficult decision to remove all photos from my childminding page where children’s faces are visible.
It’s sad that I’ve had to do this, as I love sharing the children’s fun and learning, but their safety and protection will always come first. ❤️
Please take a moment to read the guidance — it’s really important for all parents and carers.

At school, children learn how to stay safe online. But online privacy is a life skill that you can also talk about it at home.

The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) has launched Switched on to privacy - a free campaign to help parents and carers of 4–11‑year‑olds talk about what personal information children share online.

It’s built around three simple steps: Chat, Choose, Check.

Find tips, short videos and conversation starters at 👉

Switched on to privacy - resources for parents to protect children's online privacy. Online privacy is about people having the ability to control and choose what personal information is collected, used, and shared when online.

New Conversation Guides – Ask
About Games

According to UKIE, 4 in 10 parents say that they
don’t talk to their children about making good

easier, Ask About Games have published their
Power Up Pact, https://askaboutgames.com/get-started/download-the-power-up-pact - designed to guide
conversations about online video games and
help families to agree on boundaries around
screen time, spending, online interactions and
age-appropriate content.

More advice for supporting neurodivergent
children who play games online is available from
Internet Matters, including guides about scams
in games, managing screen time, and avoiding
warnings or bans in games.
